What are the normal rules for home tuition in Bengaluru?
Searches for "home tuition rules and regulations" are common in your area, and it is reasonable to want to know them. The truth is that almost nothing about private tuition in India is standardised. There is no register, no required qualification, no inspection. What exists is convention, and understanding the convention is what keeps you from being exploited.
What we have learned is normal in this market:
- Fees are monthly, paid in advance. Anything asking for a term or a year up front is unusual and worth questioning.
- A month's notice either way is the common courtesy. A lock-in longer than that is not standard.
- Missed classes by the tutor are made up, not lost. Missed by the student usually are not made up – which is fair, but should be stated explicitly before you start.
- Group size should be stated in writing. This is the thing that quietly shifts. Most families who leave a tutor do so because a group of three became eleven without any announcement.
- You can sit in on any class. There is no legitimate reason for a tutor to refuse a parent.

Do you teach maths specifically?
Yes, and this is the subject in question. Before you book: when a child struggles with the current chapter, the difficulty almost never starts there. Assessment begins a year or two earlier and works forward to find where the real gap lies.
What are the normal terms for home tuition?
