Who we are

Skoolur Learning (“Skoolur”, “we”, “us”) operates live online tuition for school students in Class 1 to 10, plus a small number of in-person classes in Bengaluru. Our registered address is HSR Layout, Bengaluru, Karnataka 560102, India. For anything to do with this policy, you can reach us on WhatsApp at +91 82176 67359 or by email at [email protected]. Kanchan handles these requests.

Under India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Act 2023, we are the Data Fiduciary for the information described below, and you - the parent or lawful guardian - are the Data Principal acting for your child.

What we collect, and why

There is one form on this website: the enquiry and assessment-booking form. It asks for the following, and nothing else.

• Your name. Your name as parent or guardian, so a teacher knows who they are writing back to. Required.
• Your WhatsApp number. This is required because WhatsApp is how we get back to you and how class times are arranged.
• Your child's class. Class 1 to 10, picked from a list. This is a school year rather than an identity - we do not ask for a name, age or date of birth.
• Your city (optional). We use this only to suggest class times in your time zone instead of ours.
• Preferred class time (optional). Picked from a list of our class hours, with nothing inferred from it.
• Anything you type in the message box (optional). This is a free-text box, so please share only what you are comfortable sharing. There is no need to give your child's name to get a useful reply.
• Which page you were on. Which page you filled the form in on, so the teacher knows what you were reading. We do not build a profile from this.

We also note the date and time an enquiry arrives. That is the complete list. If you would rather skip the form entirely, message us on WhatsApp instead - the form exists for convenience, not because we need a record.

What we never ask for

This list matters more than the one above, because most of the risk to a family lies in what a business collects that it never needed.

• Your child's name, photograph, voice recording or date of birth
• Your child's school, class teacher or report card
• Any government identity number - no Aadhaar, no PAN, nothing of that kind
• Your home address, or your child's address
• Card, bank or UPI details - this website never takes any payment
• Caste, religion, health information or any other sensitive category

The one caveat is the free-text message box. Whatever you type there is stored exactly as typed, so please share only what you are comfortable sharing. A useful reply does not require your child’s name - “my Class 4 daughter freezes on word problems” tells a teacher everything they need.

Children’s data and the DPDP Act 2023

Under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act 2023, a child is anyone who has not completed eighteen years of age. The Act places four specific duties on a business that handles children’s personal data, and they are worth stating plainly:

• Verifiable parental consent. A business must obtain verifiable consent from the parent or lawful guardian before processing a child’s personal data.
• No harm to a child’s well-being. It must not process children’s data in a way likely to have a detrimental effect on a child’s well-being.
• No tracking or behavioural monitoring of children.
• No targeted advertising directed at children.

How we meet those duties: every form on this site is filled in by a parent or guardian, never by a child. By submitting it you confirm that you are the parent or lawful guardian and that you consent to us contacting you about classes for your child. We limit child-related information to a single field - the class they are in - precisely so there is very little about a child to protect in the first place. We run no advertising network, no social pixel and no behavioural profiling anywhere on this site, and we never will on pages built for children such as the learning games and free online tests.

The Digital Personal Data Protection Rules were notified in November 2025 and their obligations are being phased in over roughly eighteen months. We will update this page as the operational requirements - including the prescribed method of verifying parental consent - come fully into force.

How we use your information

We use it to reply to you, arrange a free assessment, match a teacher to your child, and run the classes you sign up for. Nothing more. Specifically:

• WhatsApp. This is our main way of reaching you, because it is how Indian parents actually prefer to be contacted. Messaging on WhatsApp means your message also passes through WhatsApp’s own systems, under their privacy terms, which are outside our control.
• Email. An enquiry from the form is emailed to us so we do not miss it. We do not run a marketing mailing list and we will not add you to one.
• No marketing to third parties. We do not sell, rent, trade or pass your details to advertisers, lead brokers or other tuition businesses. Not for money, and not as a favour.

Who can see it

Whoever handles enquiries, and - where a teacher is being matched to your child - that teacher. Teachers are given what they need to teach your child well and nothing more. Beyond that, our email provider necessarily handles the enquiry email in the course of delivering it, in the same way any email provider does.

Cookies and tracking

This site does not use advertising cookies, social media pixels, remarketing tags or any tracker that follows you to another website.

It does use Google Analytics, and we would rather say so than bury it. It tells us which pages parents actually find useful - which worksheet was opened, which page someone was reading before they messaged us - so we build more of what helps and stop writing what nobody reads. It sets its own cookies to recognise a returning browser. Your name, your phone number, your child’s name and anything you typed into a form are never sent to it, and we do not use it to build an advertising profile or share it with advertisers.

If you would rather not be counted, blocking it is possible in every major browser, and Google publishes an opt-out add-on at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout. Nothing on this site behaves differently if you do.

How long we keep it

If you enquire and never become a student, we hold on to the enquiry only for as long as it helps us reply to you, then delete it. If your child joins a class, we keep your contact details for as long as they are studying with us and for a reasonable period afterwards, so we can answer a question about a fee or reissue a receipt. Ask us to delete it sooner and we will, unless the law requires us to keep a financial record.

Your rights

Under the DPDP Act 2023 you have the right to ask for a summary of the personal data we hold about you and who it has been shared with; to have it corrected, completed, updated or erased; to have a grievance addressed; and to nominate someone to exercise these rights on your behalf. You may also withdraw your consent at any time.

In practice, all of that is one WhatsApp message to Kanchan or one email to [email protected]. We will not ask you to justify the request, put you through a retention script, or make it harder than it needs to be. If you are not satisfied with how we handle it, the Act gives you the right to escalate to the Data Protection Board of India.

Keeping it safe

We take reasonable steps to protect the information we hold, and we deliberately hold very little of it, which is the most effective protection there is. No website can promise perfect security, and we will not claim otherwise. If something goes wrong that affects your information, we will tell you.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes we will update the date at the top of the page. Where a change materially affects how we use your information, we will tell current parents about it directly rather than relying on you to notice.
