What one-to-one online tuition means here
One student, one teacher, 16 live classes a month of 60 min each on the 2 to 3 subjects package most families choose - or more or fewer, or longer, if you choose. The lesson plan is written for your child, the pace moves as fast or as slowly as they need, and the schedule can be set around an unusual timetable or a time zone that does not line up with India.
The teacher is matched on class, board and the specific problem, from people who have already taught that combination. You meet them in the free assessment before anything is paid for. With one-to-one, that match matters a great deal, because there is nobody else in the class to absorb a personality that does not fit.
You also get a fortnightly written report and a direct line to the teacher between classes. That is the honest list. It does not include anything about accelerated results, because we cannot promise those and neither can anyone else.

Every class 60 min, one teacher and one child. Class 6 to 8 costs 20% more than Class 1 to 5, because subjects separate out and need specialist depth, and Class 9 and 10 cost 40% more, because they are board-exam years taught by subject specialists, with past papers and marking schemes.
Put plainly: 2 to 3 subjects costs about ₹313 a class in Class 1 to 5 (about ₹375 in Class 6 to 8 and ₹438 in Class 9 and 10), and every minute of it is your child’s. That is what a teacher’s hour costs when it goes to one child rather than being shared.
The packages are a starting point, not a rule. Choose anywhere from 1 to 6 classes a week, of 60 to 120 minutes each, and the more days you book, the less each class costs. Four classes a week of 90 minutes, for example, comes to ₹6,800 a month in Class 1 to 5. For a student closing a specific gap against a deadline, more classes for a term is usually worth it. For a student who is broadly keeping up, fewer is usually enough.
A last piece of arithmetic worth doing at home: fewer classes a week plus the free online tests and practice games costs less than a full timetable and fills more hours. Free things are not a lesser version of paid things when what the student needs is repetition.
Four situations where one-to-one is genuinely the right call
These are the cases where we recommend it ourselves, rather than waiting to be asked for it.
There is a specific gap and a deadline
A Class 10 student unable to factorise, or a Class 6 child who skipped learning place value. Instruction must target that exact gap, and one-to-one means no waiting for anyone else to catch up first.
Your child shuts down among other students
We're not describing shyness in general, but the particular situation where a child knows the answer yet will not articulate it aloud when other people are present. With nobody else in the class, there is nobody to perform for.
The schedule genuinely will not fit
Families living overseas with difficult time zones, students committed to sport or performance, or a child managing recovery from an illness that disrupted their academic year. One-on-one tutoring offers the scheduling flexibility for all these situations.
The learning need is unusual
Students performing significantly above or below their class level, or those with a documented learning difference needing a different pace and method. The whole lesson can be reshaped around them, because nobody else's progress depends on it.
Four situations where we would talk you down
We sell classes. We also lose money every time we say this, and we say it several times a month, because a family who was talked into more classes than their child needs leaves within a term and a family who was given a straight answer stays for years.
Your child is performing well and you'd like a competitive edge.
Parents cite this most frequently as their reason for booking more classes, though it's genuinely the most unconvincing of arguments. A student who is maintaining pace with their class doesn't require more teaching hours; they benefit from more repetition and improved study routines, and one or two classes a week plus the free tests provide both at significantly lower cost.
The real issue is self-belief, not subject knowledge.
When a child has decided they are no good at maths, the path to rebuilding that belief runs through getting things right, again and again, rather than through more hours with an adult. A heavy timetable can subtly reinforce the belief that something is badly wrong with them.
The week is already full
A child who comes to a class tired after school, sport and homework takes little from an extra hour. Fewer classes they arrive awake for will usually do more than a full timetable they sit through.
You're drawn to more because it sounds more serious.
Five classes a week looks like the serious option. Yet it is not necessarily better, and for a student who is broadly keeping up it merely represents a costlier path to identical outcomes.
What we suggest to most families
The pattern that works best is rarely one timetable for the whole year. It is a term of more classes a week to close the specific gap - the algebra from Class 8, the place value from Class 2, whatever the diagnostic actually shows - and then fewer classes a week once the gap is closed.
That costs a fraction of a year at the heaviest timetable, and it hands the work back to the student at the point where independent practice starts helping rather than overwhelming. Tell us at the start that this is the plan and we will teach towards it. A tutor who wants you on the maximum number of classes indefinitely is not describing your child’s need; they are describing their own revenue.
There is one more option worth knowing about. If you are in Bengaluru and the real problem is that your child will not engage with a screen at all, the limited number of in-person seats may be a better answer than paying more for the same format that is not working. It is priced by how many subjects and by stage. In Class 1 to 5, 1 subject (2 days a week) is ₹2,500 a month, 2 to 3 subjects (4 days a week, 16 classes of 60 min, about ₹313 a class) is ₹5,000, and all subjects (5 to 6 days a week) is ₹7,000. Can we choose how many classes a week?
Yes. Anywhere from 1 to 6 classes a week, of 60, 90 or 120 minutes each. Every combination is priced openly, and the more teaching you book, the less each hour costs - you can check it yourself on the fees page.
May we start with more classes and reduce later?
Yes, and that's what we usually advise. A term with more classes a week to fix a specific issue, followed by fewer once it is closed, costs significantly less than a year at the heaviest timetable and often delivers better outcomes. Let us know this is your goal at the outset, and we'll teach with that aim in mind rather than trying to keep you on more classes than you need.
Will you advise us if we need fewer classes?
Yes. After the free assessment we will recommend how many classes a week suit your child, including when fewer would do. We prefer a student on two classes a week for two years over one on five a week for two months who then stops. If we believe your child doesn't require paid tuition at all, we will tell you that as well.
Is one-on-one teaching effective for children in Class 1 or 2?
It can, and the length of the class matters more than people expect. Every class is at least an hour, and a six or seven-year-old cannot spend an hour on one thing - so the teacher breaks it up: reading aloud, a game, a short written task, talk. A child who is one-to-one is never left waiting their turn, which is what makes an hour work at that age. How is the one-to-one teacher chosen?
On class, board and the specific learning gap, using teachers versed in that combination. Your free assessment session introduces you to the tutor before you pay, and you can request a different teacher if needed. In one-to-one the match carries a lot of weight, because there is nobody else in the class to cushion a personality clash.
