Online tuition fees for Class 1 to 10, published openly

Every class at Skoolur is one-to-one: one teacher, one child. The fee goes by how many subjects - ₹2,500 a month for one, ₹5,000 for two or three, ₹7,000 for all of them - for Class 1 to 5. Class 6 to 8 costs 20% more, and Class 9 and 10, the board years, 40% more. Nothing changes because of where you message us from, and nothing is held back until you enquire.

Most tuition websites make you fill in a form to find out what they charge. That is a sales tactic, not a pricing policy. A parent deciding whether tuition is affordable this month should be able to find that out in ten seconds, without handing over a phone number first.

What changes the price

What changes the fee, and what does not

A parent in Kochi and a parent in Delhi pay the same for the same online plan. Every class is one-to-one, so what changes the number is simply how much teaching time your child gets, and where it happens.

  • How many subjects

One subject is 2 days a week, two or three is 4 days a week, all subjects is 5 to 6 days a week. A child who needs one subject shored up does not need the same teaching as a child covering everything, and you should not pay as though they did.

  • Your child's stage

Class 1 to 5 pays the base fee. Class 6 to 8 costs 20% more, because subjects separate out and each needs a teacher with real depth in it. Class 9 and 10 cost 40% more, because they are board-exam years, taught by subject specialists with past papers and marking schemes. Those are the only two steps.

  • Anything unusual

Classes are 60 min as standard. If your child needs longer classes, or a different number of days, every other schedule is priced openly below the plans - the more days you book, the less each class costs.

  • Online or at home

One-to-one at home in Bengaluru costs 25% more than online, because the teacher travels to you. Seats are genuinely limited.

What you are not charged for

The parts that stay free

The assessment. A free 20-minute assessment. We find where your child actually is, then tell you what we would do about it. No card, no commitment. No payment details are taken to book it and there is nothing to cancel afterwards. You are welcome to sit beside your child and watch the whole thing.

All content published on this site. The free online tests, the learning games and the articles for parents are free to use and free to print, with no sign-up, no account and no email wall. Use them even if you never book a class with us.

Asking questions. Messaging Kanchan on WhatsApp to ask whether your child needs tuition at all, or which plan fits, costs nothing and does not put you on a list.

Anything on top of the monthly fee. There is no registration fee, admission fee, material fee, annual fee or exam fee. The monthly fee on this page is the whole price.

Before you pay for anything

  • Start with the free assessment, which is run by a real teacher and not a sales pitch.
  • Ask the teacher how many classes a week your child actually needs - it may be fewer than you think.
  • Check whether class times line up with when your child is actually free, not what you wish your schedule was.
  • Read the refund policy so you know where you stand if you stop
  • Charges work out monthly per child, not by term or year.

Class hours (IST): weekdays 16:00-20:00, weekends 09:00-13:00.

The honest bit

Whether one-to-one tuition is worth paying for

It depends entirely on what your child needs, and we would rather say that than pretend otherwise. A child who is broadly fine and just wants someone to check their homework does not need four days a week. A child who has quietly stopped understanding Maths since Class 4 needs more than a worksheet pack, and no amount of free material will fix that on its own.

What the monthly fee buys is a teacher who has already taught your child’s exact class, subject and board, and whose whole class belongs to your child. Nobody else’s questions, nobody else’s pace: the teacher sees exactly where your child is stuck and stays there until it is fixed. That is the entire product, and it is why every class is one-to-one.

Tell us your child's class, board and where they are struggling. We put them with a teacher who has taught exactly that, and you meet them in the free assessment before deciding anything.

If after the free assessment you decide the answer is no, that is a completely reasonable outcome and there is nothing to unsubscribe from. Take the free online tests anyway.

Outside India

Fees for families abroad, shown in your currency

Published here rather than quoted on a call. Families abroad pay about 30% more than in India, in their own currency - it covers teaching in your evening and the cost of international payments, and it is still a fraction of what local tutoring costs.

The same three one-to-one plans as in India, and the same steps by class. The fees on this page show in your own currency automatically. Bengaluru home tuition is in person and cannot be sold abroad. The free assessment is free in every market.

Questions about fees

What people ask about fees

How much does online tuition cost each month?

It goes by how many subjects: 1 subject is ₹2,500 a month (2 days a week), 2 to 3 subjects is ₹5,000 a month (4 days a week), all subjects is ₹7,000 a month (5 to 6 days a week) for Class 1 to 5; Class 6 to 8 pays ₹3,000, ₹6,000, ₹8,400; Class 9 and 10 pay ₹3,500, ₹7,000, ₹9,800. Every class is one-to-one and 60 min long. One-to-one home tuition in Bengaluru costs 25% more. All fees are per child, per month.

Are fees different for Class 1 compared to Class 10?

Yes, in two steps. Class 1 to 5 pays the base fee. Class 6 to 8 costs 20% more, because subjects separate out and each needs a teacher with real depth in it. Class 9 and 10 cost 40% more, because they are board-exam years, taught by subject specialists with past papers and marking schemes. See tuition by class.

Can I choose a different schedule?

Yes. Under the plans, pick 1 to 6 days a week and 60, 90, 120 minutes a class, and the price updates. Every combination is priced openly, and the more days you book, the less each class costs.

Is there a fee for the assessment?

No. A free 20-minute assessment. We find where your child actually is, then tell you what we would do about it. No card, no commitment. No payment details are taken to book it, and there is nothing to cancel afterwards. If we do not think we are the right fit for your child, we will say so ourselves.

Do worksheets and study materials cost extra?

No. Weekly worksheets are part of the plans that list them, and every worksheet, game and article published on this site is free to use with no sign-up and no account.

Can two of my children share one plan?

No - every class is one-to-one, so each child has their own teacher time and their own fee. Tell us about both children when you get in touch and we will give you the total before you pay anything.

Can we cancel after one month?

Then you stop. Fees are charged by the month rather than by the term or the year, so there is no long contract to unwind. Our refund policy sets out what happens to classes you have paid for and not used.

Does the fee reduce when my child misses classes?

The monthly fee is not reduced for a class your child chooses to miss, but the class is not simply lost either - the teacher will pick the topic up in the next class. If we cancel a class, that is a different matter and is covered by the refund policy.

We live outside India. Are the fees the same?

No. Families abroad pay in their own currency, at fees set against what tuition costs where they live - they are listed on this page. Every class is one-to-one, so it is scheduled around your evening rather than ours. Tell us your city when you book the assessment and we will suggest times that actually work.
