An AI tutor that works with a teacher, not instead of one

We are building an AI tutor for Class 1 to 10 - a study partner your child can use between classes, on the practice that needs repeating. It does not exist yet. There is nothing to sign into and nothing to try, and we would rather say that plainly than dress up a waiting list as a product.

What we can tell you is the shape of it, and what we have already decided it will refuse to do. Those decisions matter more than the launch date.

Most of what makes an AI tutor good or harmful is decided before a line of it is written. These are ours, published now so you can hold us to them.

  • It will not do the homework

    Giving a child answers teaches answer-seeking. Our tool instead poses questions, provides hints one at a time, and stops before the final step so your child completes it.

  • It supports the teacher, it does not replace them.

    The teacher assigns practice tasks and identifies where children get stuck. Between classes, our AI manages the repetitive work—additional maths problems, evening spelling practice at 9pm—without replacing actual teaching.

  • It follows your child's actual syllabus

    Class, board and chapter—aligned with the book your child has. Built on authentic NCERT structure rather than generic content scraped from various sources.

  • Designed for children, with the due care that demands

    We don't advertise, we don't use engagement tricks, and we don't sell data. Parents have full visibility of all their child's conversations with it.

What AI is genuinely good at, and where it fails a child

This applies to whatever your child is already using, not only to what we build. The split is fairly consistent, and it is not the split most people expect - the failures are not about knowledge.

The honest part

Why we are being slow about this

Plenty of products already promise an AI tutor. Some are genuinely good. Many are a chat box that answers the question, which is the easiest thing to build and close to the worst thing for a child - it teaches them that the way out of being stuck is to ask a machine.

There is also a real risk we take seriously: an AI that is confidently wrong. A child cannot tell the difference, and a wrong explanation learned early is harder to undo than no explanation at all. Grounding it in the actual syllabus, and having a teacher check the difficult ground, is slower than shipping a chat box. We think it is the only version worth building.

And it is going in front of children. India’s DPDP Act 2023 sets real obligations around a child’s data, including verifiable parental consent. We would rather clear that properly than launch and apologise.

Questions about the AI tutor

Can I use this today?

No. It is in development and there is nothing to try yet. Join the waitlist and we will message you when there is. In the meantime our live classes with a real teacher are active now, and the online tests and games are free to use.

Will this replace the teacher?

No, and we wouldn't create it even if we could. When a child is stuck, there's usually an underlying reason that software can't detect—they're fatigued, they've missed lessons, they feel shy asking questions. A teacher catches this. AI takes on repetitive work between sessions, freeing the teacher to focus on elements that demand human interaction.

Will it just give my child the answers?

That's precisely what we're building against. Handing over answers is the simplest approach and the least helpful for a student. Our system asks what has been tried, offers one clue, and lets them complete the work themselves - the same thing an effective teacher would do.

What will it cost?

Not decided. Waitlist members will get it free throughout testing, and we will tell you the price before it ever becomes paid. We will not move anything you already pay for behind a new charge - our current fees are published openly.

What about my child's privacy?

This is the part we are slowest and most careful about. India’s DPDP Act 2023 requires verifiable parental consent before processing a child’s data, and we will not launch until that is properly handled. There will be no advertising to children, no engagement mechanics designed to keep them on it longer, and a parent will be able to read every conversation. Our current privacy policy explains what we collect today.

When will it be ready?

We will not announce a date. Early software timelines are typically wrong, and since this serves children, we'd rather be late than careless. The waitlist represents our honest approach—you'll hear from us when there is something genuine.

Is there a free AI tutor for kids?

There are several options available, with general-purpose chatbots being precisely the ones that most children actually use today. These applications are genuinely powerful, yet they are fundamentally not designed for educational purposes: they deliver answers immediately, which represents the fastest possible way to teach a child that the solution to being confused is simply to ask an artificial intelligence. For children already using one, the effective response isn't to prohibit it but to redirect their usage - request hints instead of complete answers, and observe whether the system will comply with this modification.

Can an AI tutor help with reading?

Partially, though less than vendors suggest. Identifying the exact decoding error when a child reads aloud - perhaps a skipped blend or a vowel inferred from the picture - is precisely the type of assessment that's difficult to automate well, and incorrect diagnosis makes things worse. Practice exercises, word lists and reading comprehension are tasks where it helps; diagnosing why a child cannot blend remains beyond its reach.

Is it useful for maths?

Mathematics is AI's most capable area yet carries the highest stakes for errors. It excels at producing limitless practice drills at the same difficulty - genuinely tedious to create by hand. Its weakness is identifying why a child answered incorrectly. A wrong division response could stem from division weakness, shaky multiplication facts, place-value confusion, or misreading the question, and each requires a completely different response.

Can we use it for homeschooling?

For practice and explaining concepts, absolutely. As the sole teacher, not quite yet—and we need to be honest here especially because homeschooling families lack a backup system to identify what their primary source missed. The real limitation isn't lack of knowledge; AI has that in abundance. The challenge is perceiving when a child has silently misunderstood something while pretending to follow along.
