Online tuition in Rajasthan

Rajasthan runs RBSE, but CBSE also has a large presence there. It is also home to Kota, and that one city sets tutoring expectations and shapes tutoring culture right across the state.

Rajasthan runs two boards, RBSE and a heavy CBSE presence, and it is also home to Kota, India's hub for competitive-exam coaching. Because of that proximity, families here often expect tuition to look a certain way: high-volume, high-pressure, exam-focused. That model is usually the wrong fit for a Class 3 or Class 7 child. We would rather say this outright than sell into that expectation.

State board or CBSE - what actually differs?

The single most useful thing to settle before any teaching starts, because the two are not interchangeable at the senior end.

The row that costs families most is the second one. A child preparing for Class 10 board exam by working through CBSE past papers is rehearsing for a different examination, and it is a mistake we see regularly. The board is confirmed at the assessment before any plan is made — see the board page and our Class 10 guide, whose exam-craft advice transfers across boards even where the papers do not.

We are near Kota. Is this the same kind of thing?

No, and the difference is worth being clear about rather than blurring. Kota's coaching industry is built for senior competitive preparation — large batches, enormous practice volume, ranking pressure — and for a Class 11 or 12 student aiming at a competitive exam it is genuinely effective at what it does.

For a Class 3 or Class 7 child it is the wrong model, and applying it early does real damage. Volume without understanding produces a child who is fast at recognising a question type and cannot explain why the method works, and that ceiling is very hard to break through later. Our post on a child weak in Maths describes how those gaps form under exactly this kind of pressure.

What we do is narrower and slower: one teacher, weekly, working from your child’s own school books, looking for where understanding actually stopped rather than adding practice on top of it. If your child needs competitive coaching, we would tell you so — our post on whether a child needs a tutor at all is written partly to rule things out.

My child studies in Hindi medium and struggles with English. What genuinely helps?

In Rajasthan this sits alongside the Kota effect, and the two get tangled. Families often assume an English problem needs the same treatment as an exam subject — more hours, more drilling. It does not, and drilling the wrong half wastes a term.

The split is diagnostic and takes two minutes at home. Ask your child to read one line from a book she has never seen, with the picture covered. If she cannot get through it, the gap is decoding, and phonics is the honest starting point at any age — a finite job with a visible end, and the shorter route to speaking too, because most speaking in a school happens through reading aloud. If she reads that line adequately but will not answer a question out loud, decoding is fine and the problem is confidence, which needs talk time rather than more reading.

Our posts on a child weak in reading English and a child who understands but will not speak set out the test properly. Hindi is taught as a scoring subject in its own right too, which children already fluent in it frequently under-use.

Which boards do you cover in Rajasthan?

RBSE and CBSE, plus ICSE where families need it. The state boards page explains how a state syllabus differs from CBSE in general.

The board is confirmed at the assessment rather than assumed, because at Class 10 an RBSE student and a CBSE student sit different papers with different past papers to practise on. Practising the wrong set is preparation for a different examination, and it is a common and expensive mistake.

Outside Jaipur and Jodhpur the argument for online teaching strengthens: a specialist who knows Class 10 Science to exam depth is far easier to find in a large city, and online removes geography from the question. Class 1 through Class 10 are all covered.

Why online works here

What changes for a family in Rajasthan

Local tuition depends on who happens to teach near you. An online class does not, which matters most where specialist supply is thin.

  • Younger children need strong foundations, not more volume, and that is what this builds
  • RBSE and CBSE both covered, matched to your child's school
  • English and phonics help for children who study in Hindi medium
  • The same teacher every week, not a large batch where nobody can hit pause

Other states we teach

Each written from that state’s own board, language and exam rather than one template with the name swapped in.

Questions parents ask

Tuition in Rajasthan, honestly answered

Is this like Kota coaching?

No. Kota's approach is built for senior competitive preparation. In a younger child, sheer volume without real understanding sets a ceiling that becomes hard to break later - see how those gaps form.

Do you teach the RBSE board?

Yes, alongside CBSE and ICSE. We confirm the board at the assessment - see state boards.

My child is in a Hindi-medium school. Can you help with English?

Yes, but first work out which problem it is. If your child cannot read an unfamiliar English page aloud, phonics comes first, whatever her age. If she can read but stays silent, spoken English is the answer.

We live in a smaller town, not Jaipur. Will the teaching still be just as good?

The class is live over video, so it is the same either way. Beyond Jaipur and Jodhpur, finding a senior-subject specialist nearby is hard, and removing that exact constraint is the whole point of this model.

How much does online tuition cost here?

Group classes start at the Class 1 to 5 band and rise for the senior classes. One-to-one works well for a specific gap. Check the fees page.

Is the free assessment really free?

Yes. It is one live class, no card needed and nothing to cancel. For younger children, we will also say so directly if a coaching-style approach is being used too soon - the most common problem we see in the Kota area.

Can we sit in on the classes?

Yes, whenever suits you. If you are weighing this against other coaching, look honestly at how many minutes your child spends actually speaking or working out loud.

What if we miss a class?

You get the recording, and the following week the teacher picks up right where the class left off, instead of moving ahead and leaving a gap.
