What you are really asking
1How many children are in one class?
Class size is crucial, and it is rarely discussed. Twenty students is a lecture—a child who is struggling will stay behind unnoticed because there is no time to diagnose why. Ask for a number, not the word 'small'. Our groups are one to three.
2Is it the same teacher every week?
Large platforms rotate teachers by availability. Every fortnight your child has to re-explain her gap to someone new, which means no progress. A teacher who never sees the same child twice cannot spot a pattern. Ask directly: is the teacher assigned to your child, or allocated per session?
3Are the fees published?
When price only arrives after a sales call, that is a choice companies make when the number is not attractive. Our fees are on the fees page. Compare the monthly fee and the group size together - either one alone tells you nothing.
4What actually happens in the trial?
A good trial diagnoses; a bad one sells. You should leave knowing something specific you didn't know before—usually that the gap is a year or two below where you thought. If the trial ends with a discount expiring tonight, you have learnt nothing about the teaching.
5Will they tell you when you do not need them?
The question nobody asks. A provider that never turns away a family is chasing enrolment. Sometimes the honest answer is that your child needs one specific gap filled and then you should stop. Expect to be told that.

Every tuition company claims to be the best, which makes the claim worthless. What actually helps is knowing what to compare, because the differences that matter are not the ones marketing talks about. Almost nobody advertises their group size, and yet it is the single strongest predictor of whether tuition will work for your child.
What 'best' means changes with the class
A parent searching for a Class 2 child and a parent searching for a Class 10 child are looking for different things, and a provider right for one is often wrong for the other.
Class 1 to 5. One teacher across all subjects, because the issue at this age is rarely subject-specific - it is reading, number sense, or handwriting speed holding everything back. See Class 1 to 5 tuition.
Class 6 to 8. Subject specialists begin to matter, particularly in maths and science, where the syllabus advances faster than a generalist can cover.

Board matters more than most sites admit
The search term "best online tuition for class 10 cbse" includes the board for good reason. A CBSE Class 10 student takes one Science paper that covers physics, chemistry and biology together; an ICSE student takes them as three separate exams. A tutor who does not know which board your child follows will teach the wrong answer format entirely.

Worth saying plainly: a list of criteria means nothing if every point happens to favour the writer.
- You want the cheapest option. We are not it. A group of three costs more per child than a batch of twenty, by necessity.
- You want exam cramming for Class 11 or 12. We teach Class 1 to 10 and stop.

How to use a free trial properly
Nearly all providers offer a trial class, so this is where the actual evaluation takes place. Here are three things to watch for—in ours or anyone's:
- Watch the opening minutes. A teacher who begins by discovering what the child already knows is conducting an assessment. One who jumps straight to today's content is just teaching.
- Ask what they observed afterwards. A substantive answer points to specifics—place value, matras, or rereading the question. A vague response suggests nothing was truly noticed.
- Never commit during the class itself. If something requires signing before you leave, that is a pressure tactic, not pedagogy.

How to compare fees honestly (the per-hour sum)
Tutoring prices are designed not to be compared. Monthly figures always look smaller than hourly rates, and most parents accept this without checking. You need one simple ten-second calculation to see what you actually pay:
Monthly fee ÷ (sessions per week × 4) = cost per session. Then divide by the length of a session—nothing else. Not the number of subjects. Not the number of children in the batch.
This reveals two problems every parent should know:
- A cheap batch is not cheap per child's minutes of attention. When twenty children share a ninety-minute class, each gets four and a half minutes of direct attention, assuming the teacher divides it evenly—which they don't. A class of three gets thirty minutes per child. The monthly fee might be half, but your child gets a sixth of the actual teaching time.
- Recorded videos are not tutoring. Videos cost almost nothing to serve to an additional buyer. A teacher who comes for your child costs the same every week. These are fundamentally different, which is why they cannot be priced as alternatives.
Always ask for the full annual figure, including registration fee, materials charges and any exam-term top-ups. A monthly price with three hidden additions is a different product from what was advertised.

What actually matters at each class - it is not the same thing
"Best" depends on which class your child is in. What makes a good provider at Class 3 is almost completely different from what matters at Class 10, and judging a primary provider by exam standards is how parents make the wrong choice.

For a board year, the things that matter are a subject specialist rather than a generalist, a plan built around where marks are actually lost, and small enough groups that a weak strand gets found. Is online tuition as good as in person?
For Class 1 to 5 there is a genuine case for sitting beside a child, which is why we teach in person in parts of Bengaluru. Above that, group size and teacher consistency decide progress, and online delivers both more reliably because no class is lost to travel.
How do I judge a tutor in the first class?
Watch whether the tutor finds out what your child knows before teaching anything. Afterwards, ask what they noticed. A specific answer means they were paying attention to your child, not to the chapter.
Do you teach Class 11 and 12?
No. We teach Class 1 to 10 only, because teaching those years properly is a different job from board-plus coaching. If you need Class 11 or 12, we are the wrong choice—and it is better to say that plainly.
What are online tuition fees per hour in India?
The honest answer is that tuition pricing covers an enormous range—a batch recording and a three-child live group are entirely different products, yet both called 'tuition'. Do the calculation yourself: monthly fee divided by sessions per month, then by session length. Then ask: how many children share that hour. A low hourly rate split across twenty children isn't actually cheap per child.

For Class 10 specifically, the thing to judge is whether the provider diagnoses why marks are lost rather than just covering chapters again. Work not shown, questions misread and concepts genuinely missing look identical on a report card and need completely different fixes. Ask at the trial which of the three your child is doing.
Is online tuition as good as a home tutor?
