Online tuition in Qatar

Demand for Indian-curriculum places in Doha exceeds what one school day can manage. Both M.E.S Indian School (operating around fifty years, with an Abu Hamour campus) and Birla Public School (founded 2004) run morning and evening shifts.

It's an unusual arrangement and a telling one. The Indian-curriculum system in Qatar is running at full capacity, which means larger classes and less individual attention—not from school failing but simple maths.

This creates a scheduling advantage. Evening-shift children have free mornings; morning-shift children finish early afternoon. Either way, there's an uninterrupted block for weekly tuition—which doesn't exist for families where school runs to 3pm or later.

The timing situation is actually quite good, better than in many markets. Published schedules at Doha's large Indian schools show early finish times: Birla Public School teaches Classes II to XII from 7:00am to 1:00pm, and DPS-Modern Indian School runs Classes I to XII from 7:15am to 2:00pm, with Nursery and Prep classes finishing at 11:00am. During Ramadan, DPS-MIS shifts to an 8:30am start.

India runs two and a half hours ahead of Qatar. A 6pm class in India translates to 3:30pm in Doha - roughly one to two hours after school finishes, with no rush. A 7pm India class becomes 4:30pm here. Both represent ordinary teaching hours on the Indian side, so you avoid competing for an awkward early-morning or late-night slot.

The weekend scheduling requires planning: Qatar's weekend is Friday and Saturday, while India's is Saturday and Sunday. The overlap is Saturday, so a weekend class means Saturday for both locations. Weekday afternoons are typically the easier option here.

Class 1 through Class 10, across CBSE, ICSE, and IGCSE. Doha's Indian schools are predominantly CBSE, though the international community means IGCSE appears regularly.

Spoken English is taught separately. Online tests and games are available free to everyone.

A child on morning shift finishes at 1pm or 2pm, giving a clear afternoon. With India two and a half hours ahead, this falls into normal Indian teaching evening. An evening-shift child has a free morning instead, also within Indian teaching hours. Both work; they need different slots, and choosing correctly at the start avoids rescheduling.
