Online tuition in Oman

Well established, and organized differently from the rest of the Gulf. CBSE's affiliation directory lists 18 affiliated schools in Oman - the fifth-largest number of any country, after the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, and Qatar. The Indian schools operate under the Indian Schools Board Oman in association with the Indian Embassy in Muscat.

This collective structure is genuinely unusual. In the UAE and Qatar, Indian-curriculum schools are usually independent or part of commercial school groups. In Oman they sit within one coordinated board, which means more consistency of curriculum and calendar across schools.

For tuition, this means a teacher who knows the CBSE syllabus knows what your child is being taught, with far less school-to-school variation than elsewhere in the Gulf.

Timing works for Oman families. Oman shares the UAE's time zone, so India is only an hour and a half ahead. A 6pm India class becomes 4:30pm in Muscat; a 7:30pm India class is 6pm here. Both fall after your child's school day and fit normal Indian teaching hours, with no awkward compromise.

The school week runs Sunday to Thursday, with Friday and Saturday as the weekend. Like Qatar, this means Saturday is the shared weekend day with India, so weekend classes land there. Weekday late afternoons usually fit better, given how the Gulf school day is structured.

Fees are set in rials. Group classes cost OMR 35 a month for Class 1 to 5, OMR 45 for Class 6 to 8, and OMR 55 for Class 9 to 10. One-to-one tuition starts from OMR 59, and spoken English is OMR 25 flat. Full details are on the fees page.

We teach Class 1 to Class 10 across CBSE, ICSE and state boards. Because Oman's Indian schools operate under a single coordinated board structure, there is considerably less variation between schools than exists elsewhere in the Gulf.

Being on the Indian curriculum abroad is a real advantage, worth planning for rather than leaving to chance. Since your child is already on CBSE with the same NCERT books and chapter progression, moving back is a change of location, not a change of school system. Your child will walk into the new classroom at the exact chapter that class is covering.

The subject that causes the most trouble on return is Hindi, and the problem often goes unnoticed while abroad.
