Springdale Indian School Sharjah
The Sharjah CBSE school that ends at Class 10 - which makes the question of where your child goes next part of the admission decision, not an afterthought.

What this school actually is, and who governs it
Springdale Indian School teaches from KG 1 to Class 10 and no further. That is not a gap waiting to be filled; it is what the school is licensed and affiliated to do. CBSE's register files it at secondary level under affiliation 6630069, and the Sharjah Private Education Authority's licence record lists its classes as KG1, KG2 and Grades 1 to 10. Practically, a family admitting a child in KG is signing up for roughly twelve years here and then one more move, at the worst possible moment - the start of Class 11, when stream choice, subject combinations and board-exam registration all land at once. Parents who think about that in advance tend to be much happier than parents who discover it in the Class 9 parent meeting.
The school began in 1991 as a nursery for two-to-four-year-olds and grew upward from there; SPEA dates the licence to 1 September 1991, and the school's own account describes later permission to extend to Class 10 after absorbing two struggling institutions. It sits in Al Azra and runs eight air-conditioned buses across Sharjah and into Ajman, which is a more consequential detail than it sounds - a large share of its intake commutes across the emirate boundary, and transport zoning is often the thing that decides whether a seat is workable for a household.
On price, Springdale is at the bottom of the Sharjah Indian-curriculum range and openly so. SPEA's approved fee letter for the school runs from AED 2,700 in KG up to AED 4,300 in Grade 9, with a flat AED 150 uniform charge. For comparison, several CBSE schools a few kilometres away sit three and four times higher. A school priced this way is making a deliberate choice about who it serves, and it is reasonable to read the rest of the picture - the inspection band, the class sizes, the staffing - in that light rather than in isolation.
That inspection band is Acceptable. SPEA's Itqan review placed the school in the fourth of six grades in the 2024-25 cycle, and the authority holds evaluation reports for 2023, 2024 and 2025 on the school's licence page, so the judgement has been repeated rather than made once. Acceptable is not a failing grade - no Sharjah private school currently sits below it - but it is the band that triggers annual re-inspection instead of the two-to-three-year cycle applied to better-rated schools, and under SPEA's fee rules it is also the band that caps how much a school may ask to raise fees. The rating and the price are connected, and a parent comparing two schools should compare both together.
One naming trap worth knowing before you search. SPEA's licence register spells the operator "Spring dale Indian School LLC", with a space, while CBSE writes it as one word and inspection round-ups have been published under "Springdales Indian Private School" - a different spelling again, and one that collides with the well-known Springdales schools in India, which are not connected. Quote affiliation number 6630069 or SPEA school 125 in any written enquiry and the ambiguity disappears.
What this page will not do is guess. Roll strength, the exact second-language options above KG, awards and whether the school runs one shift or two are not stated on the school's own site, and third-party directories disagree with each other on the enrolment figure. Those are absent below rather than filled in, and the verification note at the foot of the page says so in as many words.
Licensing, inspection and complaints sit with Sharjah Private Education Authority. The syllabus, the exams and the certificate come from CBSE, which is a different body answering different questions.
What it costs, and where that number comes from
We print the published schedule or we print nothing. No ranges, no averages, no “approximately” - a parent who budgets against an invented figure finds out at the counter.
2024-25 tuition, by grade
Partly published| Grade | Annual tuition (AED) |
|---|---|
| KG 1 | 2,700 |
| KG 2 | 2,700 |
| Grade 1 | 2,950 |
| Grade 2 | 2,950 |
| Grade 3 | 2,950 |
| Grade 4 | 2,950 |
| Grade 5 | 2,950 |
| Grade 6 | 3,300 |
| Grade 7 | 3,300 |
| Grade 8 | 4,100 |
| Grade 9 | 4,300 |
These are SPEA's own approved figures, taken from the auto-generated fee letter the authority publishes on this school's licence record, and they cover tuition plus books. Uniform is charged separately at AED 150. Two honest caveats. First, the letter's last row is Grade 9 even though the school teaches to Grade 10, so the Grade 10 figure is genuinely not published anywhere we can find. Second, SPEA's letter carries no academic year on its face; the file was generated in July 2024, which places it in the 2024-25 cycle, and the school's own fee page states only that fees are subject to SPEA approval and that books and uniforms are billed separately. Ask the office to confirm the current year's schedule and the Grade 10 amount in writing.

Fee increases are governed by SPEA, not by the school, and that is also where a fee dispute goes.
Getting a seat
Age and timing
The school sets age against 15 April rather than the 31 March or 31 December dates used elsewhere in the emirate: 4 years for KG 1, 5 for KG 2, and one further year per grade up to Grade 9. Check the date as well as the number, because a fortnight either side of it decides the year group.
New admissions are described as generally taken at the start of the academic year in April. There is no published closing date, and no published waiting-list policy, so availability is grade by grade and a phone call is worth more than a form.
What to have ready
- Student and parent passports with valid visa pages - originals plus two copies of each
- Birth certificate for KG and Grade 1 entrants, original plus one copy
- Attested school leaving or transfer certificate, original plus one copy
- Five passport-size photographs
- Previous academic records, original plus one copy
- A conduct certificate from the previous school, required for every grade except KG
The steps, in order
- 1.Apply through the school's online form, which is hosted on Microsoft Forms and linked from the admissions page.
- 2.Sit the assessment: a written test from Grade 1 upwards, and a spoken-skills interaction for KG entrants.
- 3.Wait for the merit and seat-availability decision, which the school states is subject to SPEA regulation.
- 4.Complete attestation of the transfer certificate if the child is moving in from outside the UAE.
- 5.Submit the original documents in person and confirm the transport zone if a bus seat is needed.

What is taught, and which languages are on offer
Streams at Class 11 and 12
There are none, and that is the point. The school's terminal year is Class 10, ending in the CBSE board examination; there is no Class 11, no Science or Commerce stream and no Class 12 cohort. Families should plan the transfer to a senior secondary school during Class 9, because admission into Class 11 elsewhere in Sharjah is competitive, stream-dependent and frequently closes before Class 10 results are out.
Languages
The only language option confirmed on the school's own pages is Arabic, taught from KG 2 onward as the Ministry of Education requires, alongside Islamic Studies. The site's mandatory-disclosure page carries no subject-by-subject language breakdown, and we could find no statement on the school's domain that Hindi, Urdu, French or any Indian regional language is taught here. Third-party directories assert some of those; we are not repeating them, because a language claim that turns out to be wrong costs a child a year. Ask the school directly which languages run in the specific grade you are joining, and ask for the answer by email.
What it is known for
Being the low-cost end of Sharjah's CBSE market with fees published by the regulator rather than whispered, and for a bus network of eight vehicles reaching into Ajman. Its published facilities are modest and specific - a composite science lab, a computer lab, a maths lab, a kindergarten play room, separate playgrounds for boys and girls, and yoga in the wellness programme.
Second languages listed for this school
Language options are set by the school and can differ between year groups. Confirm the combination for your child’s entry grade in writing before accepting a seat. Full list across every school: filter schools by second language.

Teaching jobs at Springdale Sharjah
Roles this kind of school hires for
- Primary and kindergarten class teachers, KG 1 to Grade 5
- Mathematics, Science and English subject teachers for the middle and secondary grades
- Arabic language teacher and Islamic Studies teacher, both required by the UAE curriculum rules
- Class 9 and 10 subject specialists preparing the CBSE board cohort
- School bus supervisors and transport coordinators for the Sharjah and Ajman routes
When hiring actually runs
This school runs an April-to-March year with a summer break, so the cycle differs from the September-start schools nearby. Its own circulars put the last working day at the start of July and the return in the second half of August, and its live vacancy list has recently carried Mathematics, Islamic Studies, Arabic and English posts. January drives fill the April intake, March is the peak, and an August start is the late-joiner slot when a post falls vacant over the break.
Before anyone interviews you, the paperwork is SPEA’s teacher licensing route, not the school’s.
Pay, plainly
No UAE regulator publishes private-school teacher pay - not SPEA, not the Ministry of Education, not CBSE - so any figure you see quoted for this school is somebody's estimate. It is worth saying plainly that a school with fees in this band has a smaller per-pupil envelope than a school charging three times as much, and that shows up somewhere. Ask for the written offer to state basic salary, housing allowance, annual flight entitlement, medical cover and end-of-service gratuity as separate lines before you compare it with anything.
We list no vacancies of our own for other schools - the link goes to the employer, so nothing here can go stale on a teacher.

Springdale Sharjah, honestly answered
Does Springdale Indian School Sharjah have Class 11 and 12?
No. The school runs KG 1 to Class 10 only. CBSE affiliates it at secondary level, SPEA's licence record lists Grade 10 as the highest class, and the school says the same on its homepage. Every child leaving here after the Class 10 board exam transfers to another school for senior secondary, so start looking at Class 11 options during Class 9.
What does Springdale Indian School Sharjah charge?
SPEA publishes the approved schedule: AED 2,700 for KG 1 and KG 2, AED 2,950 through Grades 1 to 5, AED 3,300 for Grades 6 and 7, AED 4,100 for Grade 8 and AED 4,300 for Grade 9, covering tuition and books, plus AED 150 for uniform. Grade 10 is not listed in the letter. Confirm the current cycle with the office, and ask about transport separately.
What inspection rating does the school hold?
Acceptable, the fourth band on SPEA’s six-point Itqan scale, in the 2024-25 review. SPEA keeps evaluation reports for 2023, 2024 and 2025 on the school’s licence record - see the SPEA page for how the bands work. Acceptable means annual re-inspection rather than the longer cycle given to higher-rated schools, and it limits what the school may request in a fee increase.
Which second languages are taught at Springdale?
Arabic from KG 2, as UAE rules require, together with Islamic Studies. Nothing on the school's own website confirms Hindi, Urdu, French or any Indian regional language, and we will not repeat a directory listing that we cannot check. Email the school and ask which languages run in your child's specific grade this year.
When does the school year start here - April or August?
April. This is an Indian-curriculum school, which SPEA exempts from the standard Sharjah calendar, so the academic year opens in the spring, breaks for summer from the start of July, and resumes in the second half of August partway through the same academic year. A child arriving in August is joining mid-year, not at the beginning of one.
Does the school run buses to Ajman?
Yes. The school operates eight air-conditioned buses covering Sharjah and Ajman. Transport is charged on top of tuition and is not in SPEA's approved fee letter, so ask for the route map and the zone price before you commit - a cross-emirate commute is where a low headline fee usually gets more expensive.
Is this connected to Springdales School in Delhi?
No. SPEA licenses the operator as Spring dale Indian School LLC, and CBSE affiliates it as Springdale Indian School Sharjah under number 6630069. The similar-sounding Springdales schools in India are separate institutions. Some inspection round-ups print the name as Springdales Indian Private School, which adds to the confusion - quote the affiliation number instead.
What jobs come up at this school, and when?
The published vacancy list has carried Mathematics, English, Arabic and Islamic Studies posts. Hiring tracks an April start, so the serious drives run in January, peak in March, and a smaller wave opens in August when posts fall vacant over the summer break. Applications go through the school's own careers page; no UAE authority publishes a teacher pay scale, so ask for the full package in writing.
