Delhi Private School Sharjah
A CBSE school in Sharjah, read through the two authorities that actually govern it - CBSE for the syllabus, SPEA for the licence.
No published inspection grade
SPEA has not published a grade we can link to for this school, so none is printed here. Ask the school which inspection year its last report covers.

What this school actually is, and who governs it
Delhi Private School Sharjah teaches the CBSE curriculum inside the Emirate of Sharjah, which means two separate authorities sit above it and they do not overlap. CBSE in Delhi affiliates the school, owns the syllabus, sets the Class 10 and Class 12 board papers and decides what a transfer certificate is worth. The Sharjah Private Education Authority licences the campus, inspects it, approves what it may charge and handles the complaint a parent files when something goes wrong. Almost every confusion a new family runs into comes from asking one of those two bodies a question that only the other one can answer.
For a family arriving from India, the practical consequence is reassuring: the books do not change. An overseas CBSE school works from the same NCERT titles in the same chapter order as a school in Kochi or Lucknow, and the board paper at the end of Class 10 is the same paper. What does change is the calendar and the language column. Indian-curriculum schools in the UAE are permitted to run an April-to-March academic year rather than the September start used by British and American schools, and Arabic is compulsory alongside whatever second language the family chooses. Neither of those is the school's own invention, which is why they do not move when you ask nicely.
The language question is the one this page exists to take seriously, because nobody publishes it in a form you can search. A parent moving from Chennai wants to know whether a Sharjah CBSE school can continue Tamil; a parent moving from Kerala asks the same of Malayalam; a family already in the Gulf usually wants French so the child is not starting a third script. Schools decide this locally, from staffing and from how many pupils in a cohort ask for it, and the answer can differ between two year groups in the same building. Treat any list - including ours - as the shape of the offer rather than a guarantee for your child's specific year of entry, and get it in writing before you accept a seat.
One naming point worth settling before you search for anything else. CBSE’s own affiliation register lists this school as Delhi Private School, affiliation number 6630042, affiliated to senior secondary level - so it runs to Class 12 rather than stopping at Class 10. A search box will cheerfully autocomplete “Delhi Public School Sharjah” instead, and that is a different institution elsewhere. When you write to the school, quote the affiliation number rather than the name; it is the only identifier that cannot be confused.
The honest summary of what we can and cannot tell you: the structure above is stable and checkable, and everything school-specific below carries either a source or a plain note saying it is not published. We would rather leave a fee cell empty than fill it with a number a parent then budgets against.
Licensing, inspection and complaints sit with Sharjah Private Education Authority. The syllabus, the exams and the certificate come from CBSE, which is a different body answering different questions.
What it costs, and where that number comes from
We print the published schedule or we print nothing. No ranges, no averages, no “approximately” - a parent who budgets against an invented figure finds out at the counter.

These are SPEA's own approved school-fee figures (tuition plus books) for Delhi Pvt. School LLC, licence 203, read directly from the authority's downloadable fee-structure PDF on its licensed-schools directory. Uniform sits outside this figure at a flat AED 350 across every grade. The school's own site does not publish a comparable fee page to check this against, so the regulator's letter is the only figure quoted here.

Fee increases are governed by SPEA, not by the school, and that is also where a fee dispute goes.
Getting a seat
Age and timing
Age on entry is set against a cut-off date rather than a birth year, and UAE schools apply it strictly because the licence depends on it. Confirm the exact cut-off with the school for the year you are applying to; a child a few weeks the wrong side of it is normally placed in the year below, not admitted early.
Indian-curriculum schools in the UAE recruit for an April start, so the main application window opens well ahead of it - typically in the preceding autumn or winter. Mid-year entry depends entirely on whether a seat exists in that specific grade, which is why two siblings can get different answers on the same day.
What to have ready
- The child's passport and residence visa page, plus Emirates ID once issued
- Birth certificate, attested where the school asks for attestation
- The most recent school report, and the transfer certificate from the previous school
- For a move from India, a CBSE transfer certificate countersigned as the board requires
- Passport and visa copies for both parents
- Recent passport-size photographs and the completed application form
- Immunisation and health records, which UAE schools ask for at enrolment rather than later
The steps, in order
- 1.Check that the grade you need is open before doing anything else - in Sharjah the binding constraint is seats, not merit.
- 2.Submit the online application with the document set attached.
- 3.Sit the school's assessment or interaction, which for younger children is usually an informal readiness check rather than an exam.
- 4.Wait for the offer, which states the grade and the section, and note any condition attached to it.
- 5.Accept and pay the registration amount within the deadline on the offer; a lapsed deadline releases the seat.
- 6.Complete the transfer formalities with the previous school so the transfer certificate reaches this one before the term starts.

What is taught, and which languages are on offer
Streams at Class 11 and 12
Class 10 ends in the CBSE board examination taken on the same paper as schools in India. Class 11 and 12 branch into Science and Commerce streams, with the subject combinations inside each stream depending on how many pupils opt for them in a given year - a subject that ran last year may not run this year if the numbers do not reach the school's threshold.
Languages
Arabic is compulsory for every pupil under UAE Ministry of Education rules, taught on one syllabus for native speakers and another for non-native speakers; it is not a choice and not a subject a family can opt out of. The choice a family actually makes is the second language alongside it, and at a Sharjah CBSE school that is normally Hindi or French. Indian regional languages - Tamil, Malayalam, Telugu, Kannada, Bengali, Marathi - are offered by some UAE schools and not by others, and where they are offered it is often as a subject examined at Class 10 rather than taught from the primary years. If continuing a regional language matters to your child, ask three specific questions: is it taught from the grade we are joining, is it examined at Class 10, and has it run every year for the last three years.
What it is known for
A large, long-established Indian-curriculum cohort in Sharjah, following the April-to-March calendar rather than the September start used by the British-curriculum schools around it. Anything more specific than that - roll strength, results, inspection grade - belongs on this page only with a source beside it, and does not yet have one.

Teaching jobs at DPS Sharjah
Roles this kind of school hires for
- Primary class teacher (CBSE, KG to Class 5)
- Subject teacher for Class 6 to 10 - Maths, Science, English, Social Science
- Senior secondary subject specialist for Class 11 and 12
- Second-language teacher: Hindi, French, Arabic
- Special educator and school counsellor
- Administrative and student-support staff
When hiring actually runs
Recruitment follows the April start, so vacancies concentrate in the preceding winter and early spring, with a smaller second wave when resignations land before the summer break. Applying in July for an April intake is applying late.
Before anyone interviews you, the paperwork is SPEA’s teacher licensing route, not the school’s.
Pay, plainly
Neither SPEA nor CBSE publishes a salary scale for private-school teachers, and no honest page can quote one. Private schools in the UAE set their own pay, and the total package - accommodation allowance, flights, medical cover, end-of-service gratuity - matters more than the headline monthly figure. Ask for the full package in writing before you compare two offers. The one thing to settle before salary is eligibility: see the teacher licensing route on the regulator page.
We list no vacancies of our own for other schools - the link goes to the employer, so nothing here can go stale on a teacher.

DPS Sharjah, honestly answered
Is the CBSE syllabus at a Sharjah school the same as in India?
Yes. An overseas CBSE school works from the same NCERT books in the same chapter order, and the Class 10 and Class 12 board papers are the same papers sat in India. What differs is the calendar, the compulsory Arabic requirement and the local language options - none of which touch the core syllabus.
Where do the fees on this page come from?
From SPEA's own licensed-schools directory, which carries a page per school with a downloadable approved fee-structure PDF - this school is licence 203. The figures above are the 2025-26 approved schedule, tuition plus books, in dirhams. Uniform is a flat AED 350 on top at every grade. The school's own site does not publish a comparable page, so ask the admissions office to confirm whether the approved figure has moved for the year you are joining.
Can my child continue Tamil or Malayalam as a second language here?
That is decided school by school and often cohort by cohort, based on staffing and how many pupils opt in. Arabic is compulsory for everyone regardless. Ask the school three questions: is the language taught from the grade we are joining, is it examined at Class 10, and has it run in each of the last three years. Anything less than a written answer to all three is not an answer.
Who do I complain to if something goes wrong - CBSE or SPEA?
SPEA. It licences and inspects private schools in Sharjah and handles parent complaints about fees, safety, staffing and school conduct - see the SPEA page. CBSE owns the syllabus, the affiliation and the board examination, so it is the right address only for something exam-related such as a result or a transfer certificate.
Does the school year start in April or September?
Indian-curriculum schools in the UAE are permitted to run the April-to-March year, and most do, which is why a child moving from India arrives mid-syllabus rather than mid-year. British and American curriculum schools in the same city start in September. Confirm your own school's calendar before booking a move, because the two sit side by side in the same emirate.
What does a teacher need before applying to a school like this?
In the UAE, three things stack: a qualification that meets the Ministry of Education’s requirements, the teaching licence route the ministry operates, and the emirate-level permit plus an employment visa arranged through the school. A school cannot put a teacher in front of a class on the strength of an Indian B.Ed alone. The regulator page sets out the sequence, and teach with us is where to start if you would rather teach online from India.
How much of this page is verified?
The name, the affiliation number and the affiliation level come from CBSE's own register, with the date they were checked printed beside them. The structural facts - the affiliation model, SPEA's remit, the compulsory Arabic rule, the April-to-March permission - are published rules. The school-specific figures are neither, and rather than estimate them we have left them out and said so on the page itself.
