India International School
A CBSE school in Sharjah with its fees, admission rules and inspection grade all on the public record.
The regulator’s grade

What this school actually is, and who governs it
India International School occupies a 27,093-square-metre site in the Muweilah school zone and is, by classroom count, enormous: its own CBSE disclosure records 256 classrooms of forty square metres each, twelve laboratories, 174 washrooms and 301 teachers, of whom 32 are post-graduate teachers, 94 trained graduate teachers and 94 primary teachers. SPEA's licence register dates the school to 4 July 2011 and licenses it as India International School LLC; the operator, PACE Group, dates the opening to September of the same year. It is run by the same PACE Education structure that manages Gulf Asian English School a short distance away, but it is a distinctly different proposition - newer, differently organised and with a much wider language offer.
That language offer is the reason this record exists in the shape it does. The school's own frequently-asked-questions page names Hindi, Urdu, Malayalam, Tamil, French and Bangla as second-language options. Tamil and Bangla are the striking entries. A family relocating from Chennai or Coimbatore is usually told, correctly, that continuing Tamil in the Gulf is not realistic and that the child will move to Hindi or French; the same conversation happens to families from West Bengal and Bangladesh about Bangla. Very few schools in the northern emirates publish either. What the school does not publish is which grades each language runs in, so the offer is a starting point for a specific written question rather than a promise - but it is a much better starting point than most.
Arabic here is compulsory from Grade 1 and the school runs a three-month beginners' programme for children arriving without it, which is a practical detail more schools should publish and few do. Alongside it, moral, social and cultural studies runs from Grade 1 to Grade 9, and from Grade 1 to Grade 12 the school splits Islamic studies for Muslim pupils and value education for everyone else. UAE social studies sits in the primary timetable. The kindergarten is run on Montessori lines rather than as a conventional pre-primary, which is another differentiator worth asking about if your child is joining at KG1.
The organisational fact that surprises most parents is the gender separation. From Grade 3 upward the school runs separate boys' and girls' blocks within a single shift, and its activity calendar is genuinely published as four parallel streams - kindergarten, primary, girls from Grade 6 to 12, and boys from Grade 6 to 12. That is not a co-educational school with separate seating; it is a structural split, and it is the single most important thing to understand before you apply, because it is not something that can be varied for an individual family.
On the regulator's side, SPEA's own register records the school's evaluation as Good, without printing the cycle year on the page; independent education media place that outcome at the 2023-24 inspection. No inspection report PDF is hosted on the school's site, so the standard-by-standard detail available for some of its neighbours is not available here. The roll is similarly unsettled: the school's own about page renders its counters as zeroes, the operator's site says almost 6,000 pupils across 21 nationalities, and third-party figures run higher still. With 256 classrooms and 301 teachers documented, a roll in the several thousands is clearly right, but we are not going to print a precise number the school itself has not.
Licensing, inspection and complaints sit with Sharjah Private Education Authority. The syllabus, the exams and the certificate come from CBSE, which is a different body answering different questions.
What it costs, and where that number comes from
We print the published schedule or we print nothing. No ranges, no averages, no “approximately” - a parent who budgets against an invented figure finds out at the counter.
2026-27 tuition, by grade
Published schedule| Grade | Annual tuition (AED) |
|---|---|
| KG 1 | 7,790 |
| KG 2 | 7,790 |
| Grade 1 | 7,995 |
| Grade 2 | 7,995 |
| Grade 3 | 7,995 |
| Grade 4 | 8,610 |
| Grade 5 | 8,662 |
| Grade 6 | 9,510 |
| Grade 7 | 9,510 |
| Grade 8 | 9,565 |
| Grade 9 | 9,840 |
| Grade 10 | 9,840 |
| Grade 11 | 11,122 |
| Grade 12 | 12,300 |
Most rows are the school's own published annual figures in dirhams for 2026-27. Grades 6 to 8 are the one gap the school leaves - it prints them only as a band running from 9,277 to 9,328 rather than a single figure per grade - so those three rows are taken instead from SPEA's own approved fee-structure PDF for this licence (9,510 for Grades 6 and 7, 9,565 for Grade 8), which is a regulator figure rather than the school's own and is dated for 2025-26 rather than 2026-27. That SPEA letter also runs a step above the school's charged figure everywhere else it can be compared - for example 7,985 approved against 7,790 charged at KG1, and 12,610 approved against 12,300 charged at Grade 12 - consistent with the school discounting below its ceiling rather than a discrepancy to chase. The school also advertises a further discounted rate for every grade on top of that. Transport is separate and zoned, with discounted rates of 2,900 for Muweilah, 3,500 for Sharjah, and 4,000 for Ajman, Dubai or Dhaid. An external benchmark test fee applies at Grades 3 to 9 under SPEA rules.

Fee increases are governed by SPEA, not by the school, and that is also where a fee dispute goes.
Getting a seat
Age and timing
Four years old by 31 March for KG1, five by the same date for KG2 and six for Grade 1. The school publishes these consistently on both its admissions and FAQ pages, and the March anchor follows from its April session rather than from the December cut-off that applies to autumn-start schools in the emirate.
The registration portal was open for 2026-27 across KG1 to Grade 12 when we last checked, but the school publishes no opening or closing date, which is unusual for a school of this size. Its own wording is worth quoting back to anyone who tells you a registration is a place: registration does not guarantee admission, and seat confirmation depends on availability and on passing the eligibility test.
What to have ready
- Passport copy
- Birth certificate copy
- Vaccination card copy
- The original Emirates ID and a copy
- Four photographs
- Bonafide certificate from the current school
- Attested transfer certificate and report card
The steps, in order
- 1.Complete the online registration through the operator's portal.
- 2.Wait for the school to tell you whether a seat exists in the grade you want - this is the real gate, not the assessment.
- 3.Download the syllabus the school publishes and prepare the child for the entrance test; KG1 and KG2 applicants have an interview instead.
- 4.Bring the child and the full document set on the appointed day.
- 5.Go through screening by the admissions committee.
- 6.Submit the admission form and pay once the committee confirms the place.

What is taught, and which languages are on offer
Streams at Class 11 and 12
Not published on the school's own site. Its curriculum page carries the heading for senior secondary and then defers to CBSE without listing anything, and the registration form has no stream field. The operator's group site states that the school runs science and commerce at senior secondary level, which is the best evidence available, but it is the operator speaking rather than the school. Before you commit a Class 11 entrant here, get the subject list and the permitted combinations by email.
Languages
Six second languages are published: Hindi, Urdu, Malayalam, Tamil, French and Bangla. Tamil and Bangla are the unusual ones and the reason a family might travel across the emirate for this school - most Gulf CBSE schools offer neither, and a child forced off Tamil in Grade 4 rarely gets back onto it. Arabic is separately compulsory from Grade 1, with a three-month beginners' programme for newcomers, and moral, social and cultural studies runs Grades 1 to 9 while Islamic studies or value education runs the full range. The gap is grade-level detail: the school does not say from which grade each language starts or which are entered for the Class 10 paper, so ask both questions in writing and ask whether the language has run in each of the last three years.
What it is known for
Structural gender separation from Grade 3, with separate boys' and girls' blocks in a single shift and an activity calendar published as four parallel streams. A Montessori-based kindergarten rather than a conventional pre-primary. Published 2026 board results showing 413 of 414 passing Class 10 and 202 of 206 passing Class 12 - cohorts large enough that those percentages mean something. And a document library on its own site carrying the SPEA licence, trading licence, Indian Consulate no-objection certificate, fire safety and building compliance papers.
Second languages listed for this school
Language options are set by the school and can differ between year groups. Confirm the combination for your child’s entry grade in writing before accepting a seat. Full list across every school: filter schools by second language.
Currently offered here: Arabic, Hindi, Urdu, Malayalam, Tamil, French, bangla.
Teaching jobs at IIS Sharjah
Roles this kind of school hires for
- Montessori-trained kindergarten teacher
- Primary teacher for Grades 1 to 5
- Subject teacher for the separate boys' and girls' sections from Grade 6
- Second-language teacher in Tamil, Bangla, Urdu, Malayalam, Hindi or French
- Arabic teacher, including the beginners' programme for new arrivals
- Post-graduate teacher for Grades 11 and 12
When hiring actually runs
January opens the drive, March is the peak as the April session is staffed, and August brings a second smaller round. There is no careers page on the school's own domain; the navigation link goes to the operator's applicant-tracking portal, where this school is a selectable employer and where the listing was empty at our last check.
Before anyone interviews you, the paperwork is SPEA’s teacher licensing route, not the school’s.
Pay, plainly
No pay scale for private-school teachers is published by SPEA, the Ministry of Education or CBSE, so there is no verifiable salary figure for this school. Ask instead about the package - housing, flights, medical cover, dependant tuition and gratuity - and about which section you would be teaching in, since the boys' and girls' blocks are staffed separately and that affects the job in ways a job title does not capture.
We list no vacancies of our own for other schools - the link goes to the employer, so nothing here can go stale on a teacher.

IIS Sharjah, honestly answered
Can my child study Tamil at a CBSE school in Sharjah?
At this one, on the school’s own published list, yes - Tamil appears alongside Hindi, Urdu, Malayalam, French and Bangla. That is rare enough in the northern emirates to be worth a specific enquiry. The school does not say which grades Tamil runs in or whether it is entered for the Class 10 board paper, so put both questions in an email and keep the reply.
Are boys and girls taught together?
Not from Grade 3 upward. The school runs separate boys' and girls' blocks within a single shift, and publishes its activity calendar as four parallel streams - kindergarten, primary, girls from Grade 6 to 12 and boys from Grade 6 to 12. Kindergarten and the first two grades are together. This is structural and not something that can be varied for one family.
What are the fees?
The school's own annual tuition for 2026-27 starts at 7,790 dirhams for kindergarten, sits around 7,995 through the early primary grades, reaches 9,840 at Grades 9 and 10, then 11,122 at Grade 11 and 12,300 at Grade 12. The school prints Grades 6 to 8 only as a band rather than per grade, so those three rows are taken instead from SPEA's own approved fee-structure PDF for this licence - 9,510 at Grades 6 and 7, 9,565 at Grade 8. That same SPEA letter runs a little above the school's own charged figure at every other grade too, which is the school discounting below its approved ceiling rather than an error. A further discounted rate is separately advertised, and transport is zoned and billed separately.
What is the school's SPEA rating?
Good, according to SPEA's own register entry for India International School LLC. The register page does not print the inspection cycle, and education media place the rating at the 2023-24 review. Unlike some Sharjah schools, this one does not host the inspection report on its website, so the standard-by-standard breakdown is not publicly readable.
How many students are there?
The school does not publish the number - the counters on its about page render as zeroes. What it does publish is 256 classrooms, twelve laboratories and 301 teachers on a 27,093-square-metre campus, which puts the roll in the several thousands. The operator's group site says almost 6,000 across 21 nationalities. We are not treating any single figure as verified.
Does my child need Arabic before joining?
No. Arabic is compulsory from Grade 1, as it is in every UAE private school, but this school runs a three-month beginners' programme for children arriving without any. That is a more concrete answer than most schools give, and it is worth confirming that the programme is running in the year your child joins.
Does registering online mean my child has a place?
No, and the school says so itself in as many words: registration does not guarantee admission, and confirmation depends on seat availability and on passing the eligibility test. The seat check comes first in practice. KG1 and KG2 applicants have an interview rather than a written test; everyone else sits an entrance test against a syllabus the school publishes.
When does the academic year start?
Early April. The 2025-26 session opened on 7 April 2025 and ended on 19 March 2026, with summer from 7 July to 25 August and a winter break from 22 December to 5 January. School runs 7:15 in the morning to 12:30 for kindergarten and to 2:45 for Grades 1 to 12. Board exams for Grades 10 and 12 fall in February.
