NCERT Maths Mela 4 forms the basis for CBSE schools and matches closely with most state board syllabi at this stage. ICSE follows comparable content with greater emphasis on extended division and measuring, making this test applicable, though ICSE students may find certain questions less challenging than their own examination. Math-Magic was superseded by Maths Mela 4, so a student still using the previous edition is working through identical concepts in reorganised chapters.

Timing is optional and disabled at the start. The first attempt should demonstrate what the child truly knows rather than how fast they can work when observed. On an unfamiliar test, a clock measures test anxiety equally with mathematical ability. With timing switched on, each question receives approximately forty-five seconds, which mirrors typical exam conditions and pace.

Students can attempt the test as frequently as they wish. Each time the test is taken, questions are selected from a larger set with randomised ordering and answer choices, preventing success through recall alone.
