Online test for Class 6 Tamil
The test draws from the entire Class 6 curriculum rather than single lessons, since what matters in March is not whether vetrumai urubugal were absorbed in July but whether they function when they appear alongside kaalam within a short passage. After each answer, the reasoning is explained, and the final screen lists topics needing review.
- 26 questions, marked instantly
- Every answer comes with the reasoning
- Ends by naming what to revise
- Nothing stored, no account, no email

Class 6 Tamil test - common questions
Is this Class 6 Tamil online test free?
Absolutely - it requires no sign-up of any kind. We do not ask for an email, an account or a login. The test operates entirely in your browser and stores nothing. Your score appears on the page while it is open, then vanishes once you close the tab. This behaviour is guaranteed by our privacy policy, not something you need to take on trust.
Which syllabus does it follow?
This test covers the Tamil Nadu Samacheer Kalvi Class 6 Tamil syllabus, taught as either a compulsory first or second language by all schools across the state - whether they follow the state board, CBSE or ICSE curriculum. The vetrumai urubu and kaalam rules examined here are exactly those appearing on any Class 6 Tamil examination in Tamil Nadu.
Is there a timer?
Timed mode is optional and begins switched off. A child's first attempt works best when it shows what they understand, not their pace or anxiety under observation. On an unfamiliar test, a clock measures stress levels nearly as much as Tamil ability. Only enable timing once your child feels at ease with the question types.
Can my child take it more than once?
No limit to retakes. The question bank reshuffles both order and options each time, so past answers cannot be recalled by position. A second attempt weeks later yields far more insight than retesting on the same day.
Why do vetrumai urubugal matter so much in Class 6?
Vetrumai urubugal serve as the endings that reveal what function a noun holds in a sentence - which entity acts, which receives action, which tool is used, from which place. A student who has enjoyed reading Tamil smoothly for many years might still pick the wrong urubu when putting words down, because reading enables you to overlook an ending that writing compels you to actively choose. This represents the year this ability is tested overtly rather than simply presumed.
