The NCERT Mridang 2 text, used by CBSE schools and closely followed by most state boards at this level. ICSE addresses comparable content with somewhat greater grammatical terminology, making this test valuable for them as well, though ICSE learners may encounter questions worded slightly differently from their textbook. As Mridang 2 superseded Marigold, learners with the earlier edition are studying the same material under alternative chapter titles.

The timer is optional and disabled initially. At that age, an initial attempt should reveal actual comprehension rather than reading pace under observation—a time limit on an unfamiliar digital test gauges stress as readily as English proficiency. When activated, the timed mode offers a full minute for each question, allowing a relaxed pace.

Students may attempt the test as often as they wish. Questions are selected from a question bank with the order shuffled and the answer choices shuffled each time, so a child cannot pass a second attempt simply by remembering that the answer used to be the third option. A retest taken a week later teaches far more than one attempted the same night.

Paper-based worksheets focus closely on one area and need your evaluation; tests evaluate themselves. Both have distinct roles - tests uncover where students struggle, worksheets provide practice to fix those weaknesses.
