Online test for Class 2 Malayalam

The test draws from the full second-year curriculum rather than isolated lessons. In March, what matters is not whether a word was read accurately in June but whether it reads correctly when placed alongside unfamiliar words. Following each answer, the reasoning is provided, and the final screen lists topics for further review.

  • 26 questions, marked instantly
  • Every answer comes with the reasoning
  • Ends by naming what to revise
  • Nothing stored, no account, no email

Class 2 Malayalam test - common questions

Is this Class 2 Malayalam online test free?

It is completely free, and there is no requirement to sign up. You will not need to provide an email address, create an account, or log in. The test works directly in your browser. No data is stored on our servers - your score appears on the screen and vanishes once you close the tab. This matches what our privacy policy guarantees rather than asking you to rely on our word alone.

Which syllabus does it follow?

This follows the Kerala SCERT Malayalam curriculum, which all Kerala schools teach irrespective of their board affiliation. Whether a school follows CBSE, ICSE or the State board, it must teach Malayalam under the Kerala Learning of Malayalam Language Act, 2017. At this level, children across all board systems encounter the same letters and words, making this test valuable regardless of which school they attend.

Is there a timer?

Timing is optional and starts in the disabled state. The first attempt should exhibit what the child recognises, rather than how swiftly they work when being watched. A clock on an unfamiliar test will capture anxiety equally with letter and word recognition skills. Children of seven years old rarely find benefit from being timed during their initial try.

Can my child take it more than once?

They can retake it as many times as they wish. Questions come from a pool with both the sequence of questions and the arrangement of answers randomized each time, so a child cannot succeed on a second try simply by recalling which position held the correct answer. A second attempt after a week provides far more useful information than one taken the same evening.

My child mixes up similar-looking letters - is that normal at this age?

Quite a bit. Malayalam contains many letters distinguished only by small loops or lines. Distinguishing between them is a skill that develops gradually across Class 1 and 2, not something mastered at once. Reading that is deliberate and accurate is far more valuable at this stage than reading that is quick and uncertain.
