NCERT Maths Mela 2 is the curriculum for CBSE schools and closely matches most state board materials at this level. ICSE follows comparable material with earlier introduction of numbers, making this test helpful, though ICSE students might find certain questions less difficult than their examination. Maths Mela 2 superseded Math-Magic, so a learner still studying the earlier version is working through identical content in revised chapters.

The timer is optional and starts disabled. For a seven-year-old, an initial attempt should reveal understanding, not working speed under observation, since a timer on an unfamiliar display registers anxiety as readily as mathematical ability. When timing is enabled, students receive one full minute per question, allowing a relaxed pace.

Unlimited repetition is permitted. The test draws from a question pool, randomising both the sequence and answer positions on each try, so children cannot succeed through recalling that the correct choice was position three. A second attempt after a week's gap provides far better diagnostic information than one taken the same day.
