Online test for Class 8 Sanskrit
The test contains twenty-six questions spanning the full Class 8 curriculum, not limited to a single chapter, because an effective assessment in March checks not just whether संधि was accurate when first introduced, but whether it remains correct when encountered alongside समास and प्रत्यय, which connect words through different mechanisms and are readily confused when studied separately. After each response, the explanation provides the relevant rule in straightforward English, and the concluding screen lists which topics require further practice.

Class 8 Sanskrit test - common questions
Is this Class 8 Sanskrit online test free?
Yes, it is entirely free, with no registration required. There is no email entry, no account creation and no login process. Your browser runs the test locally, storing nothing on our servers—the score appears on your screen and vanishes as soon as you close the tab, exactly as our privacy policy states.
Which syllabus does it follow?
CBSE schools teach Class 8 Sanskrit using NCERT Ruchira Part 3. Students progress from identifying instances of सन्धि and समास to categorising them and explaining the underlying rules. Work on प्रत्यय (क्त्वा, तुमुन्, ल्यप्) begins formation of complex verbal structures. This year typically marks when Sanskrit grammar ceases to appear as isolated facts and becomes an integrated system.
Is there a timer?
Timing is optional and disabled by default. An initial attempt should demonstrate comprehension rather than speed in recalling sandhi rules under time constraints. The timed option provides around one minute per question, bringing the pace closer to actual examination conditions.
Can my child take it more than once?
Students may attempt this repeatedly. Questions come from a pool and are randomised on every try, making it impossible to succeed merely by recalling which answer position was correct previously. A second attempt completed a week later provides considerably more information than one taken on the same day.
My child keeps confusing sandhi and samas. Is that normal?
Quite understandable. Both processes combine two words into one word, so the mix-up is natural. The key distinction lies in what happens to the sound at the junction - सन्धि alters the sound where two words connect, whereas समास leaves it unchanged, simply removing the case-ending between them. Understanding this single difference resolves most of the confusion.
