What a Class 8 parent is actually paying for

Class 8 is the last year of Middle School, and it is when the stakes return. Two things make it different from Class 7. First, algebra changes: identities, factorization, squares and roots, and equations that must be manipulated, not just solved. Everything in Class 9 and Class 10 - quadratics, polynomials, coordinate geometry - rests directly on this. A Class 8 algebra gap is the most expensive thing your fourteen-year-old can carry forward. Second, promotion at the end of Class 8 is no longer automatic. The rules changed, and they now differ by state and by school type. Class 8 is the last year when a weak foundation is still cheap to repair.

What changes at Class 8

  • Works confidently with rational numbers, including negatives, in all four operations
  • Expands and factorises using the standard algebraic identities rather than guessing
  • Finds squares, square roots, cubes and cube roots and estimates when the answer is not exact
  • Handles exponents including negative powers, and standard form for very large or small numbers

What Class 8 parents tell us goes wrong

  • Expands brackets correctly but cannot factorise, because the identity was learnt in one direction only
  • Loses signs when a minus sits in front of a bracket, every single time
  • Confuses area with volume in mensuration, and formula sheets make it worse rather than better
  • Has memorised identities as strings of symbols with no idea what they mean

Fees for every other class

Banded by stage, so Class 1 to 5 is one price, Class 6 to 8 another and Class 9 and 10 a third. Nothing is quoted on a call.

What Class 8 tuition covers

Class 8 fees - what parents ask

How much does Class 8 tuition cost per month?

₹4,000 a month for Class 8 in a live group of three, covering 16 live classes/month. One-to-one is more. That is the published price for Class 6 to 8, and there is no admission fee, no material fee and no annual charge on top of it.

Why does Class 8 cost less than other classes?

Fees are banded by stage rather than set per class, so Class 6 to 8 is one price. Class 6 to 8 sits between the two - subjects separate out and a teacher needs real depth in each, but it is not yet board-exam preparation.

Is there anything to pay before the first class?

No. The first class is free and there is no card involved, so there is nothing to cancel if it is not right. Payment starts only from the month you decide to continue.

What does a Class 8 parent get for that fee?

Every subject your child's school is covering, Aligned to CBSE, ICSE or your state board, Exam & revision preparation - and a monthly note on what the teacher actually noticed, which is the part most families say they had never had before.
