Class 3 Punjabi muharni and lagan matran test
The test has twenty-four questions covering the ten Gurmukhi vowel signs, all using words that Class 3 students already read. The goal is not to introduce new vocabulary, but to ensure that vowel signs are recognised automatically when appearing within words. Each question explains the method once you have answered it.

Class 3 Punjabi test - common questions
Is this Class 3 Punjabi online test free?
Yes, entirely, with no registration required. No email address, no account creation, no login credentials needed. The test operates within your browser and stores no data—the result appears on the page and is cleared when you close the tab, which aligns with our privacy terms rather than requiring trust.
Which syllabus does it follow?
This test follows the Punjab School Education Board (PSEB) Class 3 Punjabi course, where Punjabi serves as the mandatory first language. In Delhi, Haryana and Chandigarh, children who learn Punjabi as a second or third language encounter a simplified treatment of the same grammatical concepts. The test remains helpful for them, although one or two questions may go beyond their local syllabus.
Is there a timer?
You can turn it on, but it starts disabled. The initial attempt should reveal what an eight-year-old understands, not their speed under pressure. A timer on a new test gauges anxiety just as much as it gauges Punjabi ability.
Can my child take it more than once?
As many times as needed. The test pulls questions from a pool, and it randomises both the question sequence and the answer option positions with each attempt. Your child therefore cannot succeed simply by remembering where the correct answer appeared before.
What is ਪੈਰ ਬਿੰਦੀ, and why does it matter?
A small mark appears beneath certain letters - ਸ, ਖ, ਗ, ਜ, ਫ, ਲ - representing sounds drawn chiefly from Persian, producing ਸ਼, ਖ਼, ਗ਼, ਜ਼, ਫ਼ and ਲ਼. Omitting this dot alters the meaning - ਜਲ (seemingly water-related, but actually denotes urgency/combustion) diverges from ਜ਼ੁਲਮ - making it worthwhile to examine carefully rather than reading quickly.
See where your child really stands.
A free 20-minute assessment. We find where your child actually is, then tell you what we would do about it. No card, no commitment.
- Tell us the class, the board, and where it is going wrong.
- We find a teacher who has taught that exact thing, and offer a slot.
- A free 20-minute assessment - stay and watch if you would like to.
- No card, nothing to commit to
- Live classes, never a crowded room
- One teacher, every single week
