Class 7 Kannada sandhi test

This assessment is based on the Karnataka State Board (KSEEB) Class 7 Kannada curriculum, followed by government and most private schools in Karnataka. Children learning Kannada as a second or third language through CBSE encounter the same sandhi principles, though typically at a later stage or with less comprehensive coverage. The test therefore represents a suitable challenge rather than an exact alignment for them.

This is optional and remains off initially. The opening attempt should demonstrate understanding, not speed under observation, because a timer on an unfamiliar test captures anxiety as readily as Kannada. Twelve-year-olds rarely derive benefit from time pressure on their first attempt.

As frequently as desired. Questions are selected from a pool, with both question sequence and answer choices randomised each time, so memorising answer positions does not help on retakes. A test repeated a week later provides far more insight than one taken the same day.

The type of change depends on how the joined word is altered—a letter is omitted (lopa), a letter is inserted (agama), one letter substitutes another (adesha), or two vowels fuse into a single one (savarnadeergha, guna, vruddhi). Identifying the type amounts to determining which of these four transformations occurred, which forms the principal focus of this test.
