Class 9 Science test - common questions

Is this Class 9 science online test free?

Absolutely - it requires no sign-up of any kind. We do not ask for an email, an account or a login. The test operates entirely in your browser and stores nothing. Your score appears on the page while it is open, then vanishes once you close the tab. This behaviour is guaranteed by our privacy policy, not something you need to take on trust.

Which syllabus does it follow?

The NCERT curriculum, which CBSE schools implement and which most state boards closely follow at this level. ICSE divides science into separate physics, chemistry and biology examinations with somewhat greater breadth, so this test remains helpful for covering the common fundamentals, although an ICSE learner will encounter certain topics with additional complexity in their textbook.

Is there a timer?

The timer is optional and disabled initially. An initial attempt should reveal what students genuinely understand, not their speed when timed, since Class 9 science introduces substantial new vocabulary—valency, tissue and momentum—within a single year. When enabled, the timed mode provides approximately ninety seconds per question, closely matching board-exam speed.

Can my child take it more than once?

Whenever they want. The questions come from a broader pool, with both sequencing and answer placements randomised afresh on each attempt, preventing success by merely recalling the position from memory. Attempting again seven days later offers much deeper insight than trying again the same day.

How is this different from your Class 9 science worksheets?

Worksheets concentrate intensively on one chapter using paper materials, which you mark yourself; tests score automatically. They fulfil distinct roles—a test pinpoints the gap, whilst a worksheet addresses it. Most families extract more from ten minutes of testing than from an hour spent practising a chapter that never was the issue.
