Class 1 Malayalam ennam test

Twenty-one questions on എണ്ണം alone - reading a number as a Malayalam word, putting the words in order, and counting a small group. Every answer is a word rather than a digit, because the word is the part a child has to learn rather than already know.

  • 21 questions, marked instantly
  • Every answer comes with the reasoning
  • Ends by naming what to revise
  • Nothing stored, no account, no email

Class 1 Malayalam test - common questions

Is this Class 1 Malayalam online test free?

It is completely free, and there is no requirement to sign up. You will not need to provide an email address, create an account, or log in. The test works directly in your browser. No data is stored on our servers - your score appears on the screen and vanishes once you close the tab. This matches what our privacy policy guarantees rather than asking you to rely on our word alone.

Which syllabus does it follow?

Based on the Kerala SCERT Malayalam syllabus, which all Kerala schools implement from Class 1 onwards, regardless of board affiliation - CBSE, ICSE or State. Malayalam is mandated as compulsory under the Kerala Learning of Malayalam Language Act, 2017. Students on any board encounter identical letters at this level, making this test valuable regardless of their school choice.

Is there a timer?

This is optional and disabled unless you activate it. The first attempt should reveal what your child actually knows, rather than their ability to work under pressure and observation. A timer on an unfamiliar test measures anxiety as much as skill. A six-year-old generally does not gain from being timed during their initial attempt.

Can my child take it more than once?

Children can attempt this test repeatedly without limit. The questions come from a bank with both their order and the answer positions shuffled each time, which ensures that a second attempt cannot be won through remembering which spot held the correct answer. A retest scheduled a week later provides far better insight than one on the same day.

My child can speak Malayalam but does not read it yet - is this test still useful?

Indeed, that is precisely the purpose of Class 1 instruction. Every item focuses on individual letters or simple, commonly known words, never including full sentences. A learner who is just beginning to link visual symbols on screen with sounds already in their vocabulary represents the intended audience, not an unusual case.
