PM SHRI Kendriya Vidyalaya Malleswaram, Bengaluru
A senior secondary Kendriya Vidyalaya on 18th Cross in one of the oldest planned neighbourhoods in Bengaluru, documented here from the registers because its own site will not answer.
No published inspection grade
KVS has not published a grade we can link to for this school, so none is printed here. Ask the school which inspection year its last report covers.

What this school actually is, and who governs it
Malleswaram is one of the few Bengaluru localities where a central government family can reasonably expect to find a school, a market, a railway halt and a metro station inside the same couple of kilometres, and this Kendriya Vidyalaya sits on 18th Cross, Margosa Road. CBSE's register writes the address as 18th Cross Margos Road Malleswaram and the sangathan's directory as 18th Cross Malleswaram with the postal code 560055; the two agree on the substance and differ on the spelling, which is a small illustration of how these registers are maintained. The school's own site uses the alternative spelling Malleshwaram in its domain, so a parent searching either way will eventually arrive at the same place.
Very little more than that can be said with confidence, and the reason should be transparent. The school's website did not respond on any attempt made on 16 September 2026. The domain resolves to a government s3waas host at 103.195.210.180 and then the connection hangs until it times out, over secure and plain HTTP alike, across separate attempts spaced well apart. Several Kendriya Vidyalaya sites in the same address block behaved identically that day while others on different addresses served perfectly, which points to a partial hosting failure rather than to anything about this school. No section counts, roll figures, staffing tables, stream lists or founding date could be read.
The registers do carry the essentials. CBSE lists the school at senior secondary level under affiliation 800005 with school code 49010, in Bengaluru Urban district, and gives its name with the PM SHRI prefix, so it is designated under the central scheme for schools selected as exemplars of the National Education Policy 2020. Senior secondary status means Classes 11 and 12 run here. Neither register names the streams, and given that the Bengaluru campuses that could be read range from Science only to all three streams, that is not something to assume.
A word about the head, because it is a genuine trap. Both registers name the principal as Anil Kumar. Kendriya Vidyalaya NAL, on the other side of the city at Vimanapura, is separately headed by a man the sangathan's directory lists as Anil Kumar G. These are two entries, two schools and almost certainly two people, and a family or a job applicant writing to one on the strength of having read about the other will not get far. The KV codes keep them apart: 1049 for Malleswaram and 1048 for NAL.
What follows on this page is the national framework, which is worth having regardless of the site outage, because at a Kendriya Vidyalaya the fee schedule, the age bands, the priority order and the pay scales are all set centrally and apply to this campus exactly as they apply to any other. The campus-specific detail, which is what would make this record genuinely useful, remains outstanding, and this page should be rewritten against the school's own pages as soon as they are reachable again.
Licensing, inspection and complaints sit with Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan. The syllabus, the exams and the certificate come from CBSE, which is a different body answering different questions.
What it costs, and where that number comes from
We print the published schedule or we print nothing. No ranges, no averages, no “approximately” - a parent who budgets against an invented figure finds out at the counter.
2026-27 tuition, by grade
Published schedule| Grade | Annual tuition (INR) |
|---|---|
| Class 9 tuition, per month | 200 |
| Class 10 tuition, per month | 200 |
| Class 11 Commerce or Humanities tuition, per month | 300 |
| Class 11 Science tuition, per month | 400 |
| Class 12 Commerce or Humanities tuition, per month | 300 |
| Class 12 Science tuition, per month | 400 |
| Computer fund from Class 3, per month | 100 |
| Vidyalaya Vikas Nidhi, per month | 500 |
| Admission fee, one time | 25 |
Fees are the one thing about this school that a broken website cannot obscure, because no Kendriya Vidyalaya sets its own. The sangathan publishes one schedule nationally and every campus applies it. These amounts were read from that schedule on 16 September 2026 and that host has not answered since, so they are pinned to that date rather than to today and should be checked at the office. Read in the context of Malleswaram, where private school fees in the surrounding streets run to many times this, the arithmetic is striking: a primary child costs 500 rupees a month in development fund, 600 once the computer fund starts at Class 3, and tuition does not appear until Class 9 at 200 rupees a month. Girls in Classes 6 to 12, Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe children, children of Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan employees and Right to Education admissions are exempt from tuition altogether.

Fee increases are governed by KVS, not by the school, and that is also where a fee dispute goes.
Getting a seat
Age and timing
Class 1 entry needs six completed years on 31 March of the admission year and an age under eight, with a 1 April birthday counted as inside the window. The sangathan publishes a matching band for every class up to Class 10 on the same reference date, and these apply here without local adjustment.
Class 1 registration is online and opens for an advertised period fixed by the Bengaluru Regional Office. For any higher class the governing document is the school's own vacancy table, which is published on the website that could not be reached, so the position at this campus is genuinely unknown and has to be obtained by telephone.
What to have ready
- Evidence of date of birth inside the relevant band
- Central government service certificate for the parent, together with the record of transfers used as a tie-break
- Transfer certificate from the school last attended, for entry at Class 2 or above
- Reserved-category certificate where a Scheduled Caste, Scheduled Tribe or OBC non-creamy-layer seat is sought
- Disability certificate for a Child with Special Needs application
- Address proof for a Right to Education claim
The steps, in order
- 1.Contact the school by telephone, since its published vacancy table is inaccessible and nothing can be checked online.
- 2.Confirm the sector, which neither register states, because it determines which category heads the priority queue at this campus.
- 3.Confirm which streams run at Classes 11 and 12 before planning a senior route here.
- 4.Register online in the advertised window if you are applying for Class 1.
- 5.For Class 9 entry, sit the sangathan's written test, one three-hour paper covering five subjects.
- 6.The priority categories, the reservation percentages and the Right to Education mechanics are documented once at /regulators/kvs.

What is taught, and which languages are on offer
Streams at Class 11 and 12
CBSE's register records senior secondary status, so Classes 11 and 12 operate. Beyond that nothing is published. The streams are not named in either register and the school's own pages were unreachable. Because the comparable Bengaluru campuses vary from a single Science stream to Science, Commerce and Humanities together, a family should treat the senior offer here as an open question and ask it directly.
Languages
Not established. Hindi is universal across Kendriya Vidyalayas and is recorded as the second language on this record for that reason, but which additional language runs at Class 6 here is unknown. At the Bengaluru campuses whose staffing tables could be read, Sanskrit posts were commonly sanctioned and often vacant, and Kannada appeared nowhere at all, which makes both worth asking about.
What it is known for
Its position in one of the oldest planned neighbourhoods of the city, on 18th Cross off Margosa Road, and its PM SHRI designation in CBSE's register.
Second languages listed for this school
Language options are set by the school and can differ between year groups. Confirm the combination for your child’s entry grade in writing before accepting a seat. Full list across every school: filter schools by second language.

Teaching jobs at KV Malleswaram
Roles this kind of school hires for
- Post Graduate Teachers for the senior secondary classes CBSE's register confirms operate here
- Trained Graduate Teachers across the middle school
- Primary teachers, normally the largest group on any Kendriya Vidyalaya establishment
- Librarian and specialist posts in art, music, work education and physical education
- Locally appointed contractual teachers covering unfilled sanctioned posts
When hiring actually runs
Local contractual appointments are made around the start of the academic session in April and are advertised on each school's own site, which in this case cannot be reached. Regular posts are filled centrally by Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan through national recruitment drives notified at intervals of the sangathan's choosing, with successful candidates posted anywhere in India.
Before anyone interviews you, the paperwork is KVS’s teacher licensing route, not the school’s.
Pay, plainly
The 7th Central Pay Commission levels are identical at every Kendriya Vidyalaya and are published: Primary Teacher at Level 6, 35,400 to 1,12,400 rupees; Trained Graduate Teacher at Level 7, 44,900 to 1,42,400; Post Graduate Teacher at Level 8, 47,600 to 1,51,100; Vice Principal at Level 10; Principal at Level 12, 78,800 to 2,09,200; Senior Secretariat Assistant at Level 4 and Junior Secretariat Assistant at Level 2. Because this campus's vacancy page is unreachable, which posts are actually open here is not visible and must be asked. Contractual terms are never published.
We list no vacancies of our own for other schools - the link goes to the employer, so nothing here can go stale on a teacher.
What has changed on this page
Dated, sourced, and kept even when the change was us correcting ourselves.
The school's website did not respond on any attempt over HTTPS or HTTP; the domain resolves to a government s3waas host at 103.195.210.180 and the connection times out. Sister Kendriya Vidyalaya sites on other addresses served normally the same day.

KV Malleswaram, honestly answered
Why does this page say so little about the school itself?
Because the school's website was unreachable on 16 September 2026. The domain resolved but every connection timed out. Section counts, roll, streams, staffing and founding year all live there, so none could be read, and none has been invented to fill the space.
Is the school still open?
Yes. CBSE's affiliated-schools register carries it at senior secondary level under affiliation 800005 and the sangathan's directory lists it with KV code 1049. The failure was in the web hosting, not the school, and several neighbouring Kendriya Vidyalaya sites on the same address block failed identically that day.
Where exactly is it?
On 18th Cross off Margosa Road in Malleswaram, Bengaluru 560055. CBSE's register spells the road Margos and the sangathan's directory omits it; the school's own domain uses the spelling Malleshwaram. All three refer to the same campus.
Are Classes 11 and 12 offered?
Yes, CBSE records the school at senior secondary level. Which streams run is not stated in either register. Among the Bengaluru Kendriya Vidyalayas that could be read, the offer varied from Science alone to Science, Commerce and Humanities, so ask before assuming.
Is the principal the same Anil Kumar as at KV NAL?
Almost certainly not. Both registers name this school's head as Anil Kumar, while the sangathan's directory separately names Anil Kumar G at Kendriya Vidyalaya NAL. Two schools, two entries, two KV codes, 1049 and 1048. Address correspondence to the school, not to the name.
What are the fees?
The national Kendriya Vidyalaya schedule. Nothing in tuition to Class 8, 200 rupees a month at Classes 9 and 10, 300 or 400 a month in Classes 11 and 12 by stream, a 500 rupee monthly development fund throughout and a 100 rupee computer fund from Class 3. Admission is 25 rupees once.
How do I find out about seats?
By contacting the school. Every Kendriya Vidyalaya publishes a vacancy table online, but this one's site cannot be reached, so the usual method of checking availability before travelling is unavailable here.
Does PM SHRI status affect admission?
No. The PM SHRI designation brings central funding and a reporting obligation as an exemplar school under the National Education Policy 2020. Admission continues to be governed entirely by the sangathan's guidelines and the priority order set out at /regulators/kvs.
