PM SHRI Kendriya Vidyalaya CRPF Yelahanka, Bengaluru
A Central Reserve Police Force campus on Doddaballapur Road, three sections wide from Class 1 to Class 10, and a school whose own two pages cannot agree on the year it opened.
No published inspection grade
KVS has not published a grade we can link to for this school, so none is printed here. Ask the school which inspection year its last report covers.

What this school actually is, and who governs it
Start with the disagreement, because pretending it is not there would be worse. The school's genesis page says it was started in 1981. The summary block on its own homepage says 1995. Those are fourteen years apart and both are published by the same institution on the same website. Nothing reached during this check resolves it, so no founding year is recorded in this record's data fields at all, and a family or a researcher who needs the date should ask the office for the sanction letter rather than take either page at face value.
What is not in dispute is the sponsor. This is the Kendriya Vidyalaya attached to the Central Reserve Police Force group centre at Yelahanka, which puts it in the defence and paramilitary side of the sangathan's sector map. Children of serving CRPF personnel and other transferable central government employees sit at the top of the priority order here. The campus is on Doddaballapur Road at Yelahanka, Bengaluru 560064, and the school helpfully gives the distance from Yelahanka railway station as about two kilometres, which is a more useful orientation than most school sites offer.
Size and shape are consistent across the pages even where the year is not. The school calls itself a three-section school and its own table bears that out: three parallel sections in every class from Class 1 to Class 10, with average enrolment per section running from 40 up to 51 in Class 7. The homepage counter reads 719 boys and 646 girls, so roughly 1,365 children, with 48 staff of whom 42 teach. The genesis page claims 1,600 plus and the homepage summary 1,400 plus, so the roll is another figure the site gives two ways; the counter is the tightest of the three and is the one used here.
Class 1 is where the opportunity sits. At the April 2026 reading the table showed 120 fresh places available in Class 1 across three sections with nobody yet enrolled, which is simply the annual intake waiting to be filled, and zero free seats in every class above it. The senior offer is Science and Commerce at the plus-two level according to the genesis page, although the vacancy table does not carry Class 11 or Class 12 rows, so section counts for the senior years are not published and cannot be stated here.
The staffing table is detailed and in places stark. All three TGT Social Studies posts were vacant at the last reading, open since June 2025. Both TGT Sanskrit posts have been empty since January 2023. Two of three TGT Mathematics posts have been open since August 2022, one of two TGT Biology posts since May 2025, the librarian post since May 2025 and the primary music post since September 2025. Three laboratory sub-staff posts have stood vacant since May 2013, which is a thirteen-year gap and probably tells you more about sanction versus funding than about this particular school. On the filled side, all three TGT English posts, the PGT Computer Science, PGT Commerce, PGT Biology and both PGT Mathematics posts are in post, and fourteen of seventeen Primary Teacher posts are staffed.
Licensing, inspection and complaints sit with Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan. The syllabus, the exams and the certificate come from CBSE, which is a different body answering different questions.
What it costs, and where that number comes from
We print the published schedule or we print nothing. No ranges, no averages, no “approximately” - a parent who budgets against an invented figure finds out at the counter.
2026-27 tuition, by grade
Published schedule| Grade | Annual tuition (INR) |
|---|---|
| Class 9 tuition, per month | 200 |
| Class 10 tuition, per month | 200 |
| Class 11 Commerce or Humanities tuition, per month | 300 |
| Class 11 Science tuition, per month | 400 |
| Class 12 Commerce or Humanities tuition, per month | 300 |
| Class 12 Science tuition, per month | 400 |
| Computer fund from Class 3, per month | 100 |
| Vidyalaya Vikas Nidhi, per month | 500 |
| Admission fee, one time | 25 |
One schedule covers the whole country, so nothing here is specific to Yelahanka. It was read off the sangathan's fee-structure page on 16 September 2026 and has not been re-read since, that host having gone unresponsive; treat the date as the warranty. The single most misunderstood line is the Vidyalaya Vikas Nidhi. At 500 rupees a month it is not a one-off building fund but a recurring charge that applies from the primary years, where tuition is zero, so a Class 2 family pays 500 a month and a Class 4 family 600 once the computer fund starts at Class 3. Tuition itself arrives only at Class 9. Girls in Classes 6 to 12, Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe children, children of Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan employees and children admitted under the Right to Education quota are exempt from tuition.

Fee increases are governed by KVS, not by the school, and that is also where a fee dispute goes.
Getting a seat
Age and timing
For Class 1, six years old on 31 March of the admission year and not yet eight, with children born on 1 April counted as eligible. Classes 2 to 10 each have their own published two-year band on the same reference date. These come from the sangathan and no campus varies them.
The online Class 1 registration window is announced centrally each year and is short. Above Class 1 there is effectively no window here, because the school's table showed no free seats in any class from 2 to 10 at the April 2026 reading; the 120 places it did show were the incoming Class 1 intake.
What to have ready
- Birth certificate or equivalent age proof
- CRPF or other central government service certificate for the parent, with the record of transfers used to break ties
- Transfer certificate from the school previously attended
- Caste, tribe or OBC non-creamy-layer certificate where a reserved seat is sought
- Certificate of disability for a Child with Special Needs claim
- Residence proof for a Right to Education application
The steps, in order
- 1.Register online during the advertised window if you are applying for Class 1; that is where the seats at this campus are.
- 2.Have the service and transfer record ready, because the number of transfers in the last seven years is used to order applicants inside a category.
- 3.For Class 9 entry, prepare for the sangathan's written test in Hindi, English, Mathematics, Social Science and Science.
- 4.For any other class, check the vacancy table first and expect it to show nothing, then ask the office whether a cancellation has opened anything up.
- 5.For Class 11, ask which streams and sections are running, since the school does not publish senior section counts.
- 6.The shared rules behind all of this, including the reservation percentages, are at /regulators/kvs.

What is taught, and which languages are on offer
Streams at Class 11 and 12
Science and Commerce at the plus-two level, per the school's genesis page. The senior section counts are not published: the vacancy table stops at Class 10 and no other page reached gives the number of Class 11 or Class 12 sections. Filled Post Graduate Teacher posts in Commerce, Biology, Mathematics, Computer Science and Chemistry appear on the staffing table, which at least indicates the subjects are staffed even though the section structure is not stated.
Languages
English is fully staffed here, with all three Trained Graduate Teacher posts filled. Hindi carries one sanctioned TGT post, vacant since January 2025. Two Sanskrit posts are sanctioned and both have been empty since January 2023. That makes the second-language position weaker on paper than at the larger city campuses, and worth a direct question before a child reaches Class 6. No Kannada provision appears anywhere on the site.
What it is known for
Being the Central Reserve Police Force's Kendriya Vidyalaya in north Bengaluru, two kilometres from Yelahanka railway station, running exactly three sections a year from Class 1 to Class 10.

Language options are set by the school and can differ between year groups. Confirm the combination for your child’s entry grade in writing before accepting a seat. Full list across every school: filter schools by second language.

Teaching jobs at KV CRPF Yelahanka
Roles this kind of school hires for
- TGT Social Studies, with all three sanctioned posts vacant since June 2025
- TGT Sanskrit, both posts empty since January 2023
- TGT Mathematics, two of three posts open since August 2022
- TGT Biology and TGT Librarian, one post each vacant since May 2025
- Primary music teacher, vacant since September 2025
- Primary Teachers, fourteen in post against seventeen sanctioned
When hiring actually runs
A campus with an entire subject department unstaffed leans hard on local contractual hiring, which Kendriya Vidyalayas do in the weeks bracketing the April start of the session. The regular route is different in kind: Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan advertises nationally for Post Graduate, Trained Graduate and Primary Teacher posts when it chooses to run a drive, and successful candidates can be posted anywhere in the country.
Before anyone interviews you, the paperwork is KVS’s teacher licensing route, not the school’s.
Pay, plainly
Pay for regular posts is on the published 7th Central Pay Commission matrix and does not vary by campus: Primary Teacher at Level 6, 35,400 to 1,12,400 rupees; Trained Graduate Teacher at Level 7, 44,900 to 1,42,400; Post Graduate Teacher at Level 8, 47,600 to 1,51,100; Vice Principal at Level 10, 56,100 to 1,77,500; Principal at Level 12, 78,800 to 2,09,200. Stenographers and Senior Secretariat Assistants sit at Level 4. Contractual appointments the school makes itself are not on this matrix and their terms are not published.
We list no vacancies of our own for other schools - the link goes to the employer, so nothing here can go stale on a teacher.

KV CRPF Yelahanka, honestly answered
When was the school founded?
The school's own site gives two answers. Its genesis page says 1981 and its homepage summary says 1995. Nothing reached in this check settles it, so no founding year is recorded here. If the date matters to you, ask the office for the sanction letter.
Who is this school for?
It is attached to the Central Reserve Police Force group centre at Yelahanka, so children of serving CRPF personnel and other transferable central government employees come first in the sangathan's priority order. Others may apply but sit lower down. The order is published in full at /regulators/kvs.
Are there seats available?
At the April 2026 reading the table showed 120 places in Class 1 across three sections, which is the annual intake, and zero fresh admissions in every class from 2 to 10. If you are not entering at Class 1, the realistic answer is that you are waiting for a cancellation.
How many children are in a class?
Three sections in every year from Class 1 to Class 10, with the school's own average enrolment per section running between 40 and 51. Class 7 was the fullest at the last reading, at 153 children in three sections.
What are the fees?
The standard national Kendriya Vidyalaya schedule. Nothing in tuition to Class 8, 200 rupees a month at Classes 9 and 10, and 300 or 400 a month in Classes 11 and 12 by stream, with a 500 rupee monthly development fund throughout and a 100 rupee computer fund from Class 3. Admission is 25 rupees. Several categories including girls from Class 6 pay no tuition.
Is Social Science being taught?
The school's own table records all three Trained Graduate Teacher posts in Social Studies as vacant since June 2025. Kendriya Vidyalayas cover gaps like that with locally appointed contractual teachers, but a family with a child in Classes 6 to 10 should ask specifically how the subject is staffed this session.
Which streams run at Class 11?
The genesis page says Science and Commerce. How many sections of each is not published anywhere on the site, and the vacancy table does not carry senior rows, so ask the school directly if you are planning a move into Class 11.
How do I apply to teach here?
Regular posts come through Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan's central recruitment, notified nationally. Contractual and part-time posts are filled by the school around the April start of the session. Given the number of vacant sanctioned posts on its own table, the contractual route is currently the busier one.
