No published inspection grade
KVS has not published a grade we can link to for this school, so none is printed here. Ask the school which inspection year its last report covers.

What this school actually is, and who governs it
A family looking for a place for a four-year-old has very few options inside the Kendriya Vidyalaya system, because the Balvatika pre-primary years are being rolled out unevenly and most campuses run only the third year, if any. This one runs all three. Balvatika 1, 2 and 3 each have a single section, holding 45, 41 and 39 children respectively at the last update on 25 August 2026, and the third year was showing one free place. For a household that would otherwise be paying private nursery fees for two years before a Class 1 draw of lots, that is a material difference and it is the first reason to look at this school.
The second reason is depth. Above Balvatika the school runs five parallel sections in every single class from Class 1 through Class 10, which is the maximum the sangathan normally sanctions, and it carries all three senior streams. The homepage counter reads 1,309 boys and 1,252 girls, about 2,561 children in all, with 67 teaching and 4 non-teaching staff. Taken together that makes this the largest Kendriya Vidyalaya in the Bengaluru set covered here by roll, narrowly ahead of the ASC Centre campus and KV DRDO.
The school sits on St John's Road at Sivan Chetty Gardens, Bengaluru 560042, inside the Madras Engineer Group establishment that gives it its name, and it dates from 1964. That makes it a defence-sector campus, so the admission priority runs from children of transferable central government employees including defence and ex-servicemen outward. It is also the most central of the Bengaluru Kendriya Vidyalayas geographically, which matters if you are weighing a commute against a slightly better section count elsewhere.
The senior end has room in it, which is worth knowing because most city Kendriya Vidyalayas do not. Class 11 runs three Science sections holding 104 pupils with 16 places free, one Commerce section full at 40, and one Arts section holding 24 with 16 free. Class 12 mirrors it with three Science sections at 103 and 17 free, Commerce full at 46, and Arts at 18 with 22 free. The Arts stream is real here rather than aspirational, since it exists at both levels, but it is clearly the least subscribed of the three, and a pupil entering it should ask how many optional subjects one section can actually timetable.
The facilities list the school publishes is more varied than the standard Kendriya Vidyalaya set and leans towards the primary years: four computer laboratories, an assembly ground, a children's park, an open gymnasium, basketball and volleyball courts, a music room, an art and craft room, a toy library and a wellness centre. A toy library and an open gym are not things most Kendriya Vidyalaya sites list. On the uniformed side the school names NCC cadets, Scouts and Guides, and a pipe band party, which is a genuinely unusual co-curricular offer and fits a campus attached to an engineer group.
Licensing, inspection and complaints sit with Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan. The syllabus, the exams and the certificate come from CBSE, which is a different body answering different questions.
What it costs, and where that number comes from
We print the published schedule or we print nothing. No ranges, no averages, no “approximately” - a parent who budgets against an invented figure finds out at the counter.
2026-27 tuition, by grade
Published schedule| Grade | Annual tuition (INR) |
|---|---|
| Class 9 tuition, per month | 200 |
| Class 10 tuition, per month | 200 |
| Class 11 Commerce or Humanities tuition, per month | 300 |
| Class 11 Science tuition, per month | 400 |
| Class 12 Commerce or Humanities tuition, per month | 300 |
| Class 12 Science tuition, per month | 400 |
| Computer fund from Class 3, per month | 100 |
| Vidyalaya Vikas Nidhi, per month | 500 |
| Admission fee, one time | 25 |
These amounts are fixed by Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan for every school it runs, so the campus cannot add to them or discount them. They were read from the sangathan's fee page on 16 September 2026 and that host has not responded since, so the figures stand as of that date rather than as of today. Balvatika parents should note that the published schedule sets out tuition from Class 9 and the development fund and computer fund alongside, and does not separately price the three pre-primary years on the page read; ask the office what a Balvatika 1 place costs per month before you commit. The tuition exemptions are the sangathan's own: girls from Class 6 to Class 12, Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe children, children of KVS employees, and children admitted under the 25 per cent Right to Education quota.

Fee increases are governed by KVS, not by the school, and that is also where a fee dispute goes.
Getting a seat
Age and timing
Class 1 requires six years completed by 31 March of the admission year and under eight, with 1 April birthdays treated as inside the band. Higher classes to Class 10 carry their own bands measured on the same date. The Balvatika years sit below Class 1 and their age rules are set separately by the sangathan's Balvatika notices, which this school links from its homepage each cycle.
Balvatika 1 and 3 and Class 1 registration all run online in a window announced by advertisement, and the 2026-27 cycle had its last date extended with the draw of lots rescheduled, per a notice on the school's own homepage. For Classes 2 to 12 the vacancy table is the document that matters, and here it does show live seats in the senior streams.
What to have ready
- Age proof for the child, needed for Balvatika as well as for Class 1
- Service certificate for the parent whose employment supports the priority claim, with the transfer record
- Transfer certificate from the previous school for entry above Class 1
- Reserved-category certificate where one is claimed
- Disability certificate for a Child with Special Needs seat
- Address proof for a Right to Education application
The steps, in order
- 1.If your child is of pre-primary age, apply here first, because all three Balvatika years run on this campus and almost nowhere else in the group.
- 2.Watch the homepage notice board for the Balvatika and Class 1 registration dates, which were extended once during the 2026-27 cycle.
- 3.Register online; nothing at Balvatika or Class 1 level is taken over the counter.
- 4.For Classes 11 and 12, go straight to the vacancy table, which has been showing free places in Science and Arts.
- 5.Take the sangathan's written test if you are entering at Class 9.
- 6.Read the shared priority, reservation and RTE rules at /regulators/kvs rather than looking for them on this page.

What is taught, and which languages are on offer
Streams at Class 11 and 12
All three: Science with three sections at each of Classes 11 and 12, Commerce with one, and Arts with one. The school's profile page states plainly that it hosts all three streams, and the section table bears it out at both levels, which is the stronger test. Arts is the thinnest, at 24 pupils in Class 11 and 18 in Class 12 against a section capacity of 40, so seats exist there when they do not exist in Commerce.
Languages
The site does not publish a staffing table, so the language provision cannot be corroborated post by post as it can at the Jalahalli and Yelahanka campuses. Hindi is taught across Kendriya Vidyalayas as a matter of course and appears in the school's Hindi-language version of every page. Which third language runs at Class 6, and whether Sanskrit or Kannada is among the options here, is not stated anywhere reached and should be asked directly.
What it is known for
Running Balvatika 1, 2 and 3 as well as Classes 1 to 12; five sections in every class to Class 10; and a co-curricular list that includes NCC, Scouts and Guides and a pipe band party alongside a toy library and an open gymnasium.

Teaching jobs at KV MEG Centre
Roles this kind of school hires for
- Balvatika practitioners for the three pre-primary sections, a staffing need most Kendriya Vidyalayas in this city do not have
- Primary teachers across five sections a year from Class 1 to Class 5
- Trained Graduate Teachers for a five-section middle school
- Post Graduate Teachers in the science subjects, which carry three sections at each senior level
- A Commerce Post Graduate Teacher for the single full section at each of Classes 11 and 12
- Music, art and craft staff, given the dedicated rooms the school lists
When hiring actually runs
Contractual appointments are made by the school itself and cluster around the opening of the academic session in April, with notices posted on the school's own site. The regular establishment is recruited by Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan centrally, through drives it notifies nationally at intervals of its own choosing rather than every year.
Before anyone interviews you, the paperwork is KVS’s teacher licensing route, not the school’s.
Pay, plainly
Regular staff are paid on the published 7th Central Pay Commission levels that apply across the sangathan: Level 6 for a Primary Teacher, 35,400 to 1,12,400 rupees; Level 7 for a Trained Graduate Teacher, 44,900 to 1,42,400; Level 8 for a Post Graduate Teacher, 47,600 to 1,51,100; Level 10 for a Vice Principal and Level 12 for a Principal. This school does not publish a staffing table of its own, so how many of its sanctioned posts are currently filled is not visible from outside. Contractual terms are separate and unpublished.
We list no vacancies of our own for other schools - the link goes to the employer, so nothing here can go stale on a teacher.

KV MEG Centre, honestly answered
Does this school take pre-primary children?
Yes, and all three years of it. Balvatika 1, 2 and 3 each run one section, holding 45, 41 and 39 children at the August 2026 reading. That is rare: most Kendriya Vidyalayas in Bengaluru run only Balvatika 3, and several run none at all.
How many sections are there in each class?
Five, in every class from Class 1 to Class 10. At senior level it is three Science sections, one Commerce and one Arts at each of Classes 11 and 12. Five is the deepest section count in this Bengaluru group, matched only by the ASC Centre and DRDO campuses.
Can my child take Arts at Class 11?
Yes, and there is likely to be room. The Arts section at Class 11 held 24 pupils with 16 places free, and at Class 12 held 18 with 22 free. Because it is a single section, ask which optional subjects it can actually timetable before accepting a place.
Where is the school and who is it for?
On St John's Road at Sivan Chetty Gardens, Bengaluru 560042, inside the Madras Engineer Group establishment, which makes it a defence-sector Kendriya Vidyalaya. Children of transferable central government employees including defence personnel and ex-servicemen come first in the priority order set out at /regulators/kvs.
What does it cost?
The national Kendriya Vidyalaya schedule applies: no tuition to Class 8, 200 rupees a month at Classes 9 and 10, 300 or 400 a month at Classes 11 and 12 by stream, a 500 rupee monthly development fund and a 100 rupee computer fund from Class 3, with admission at 25 rupees. What a Balvatika place costs monthly was not stated on the page read and should be confirmed with the office.
What is there besides classrooms?
The school lists four computer laboratories, an assembly ground, a children's park, an open gymnasium, basketball and volleyball courts, a music room, an art and craft room, a toy library and a wellness centre, along with NCC, Scouts and Guides and a pipe band party.
Are there free seats?
At the last reading, one place in Balvatika 3 and two in Class 4, nothing else below Class 11, and then sixteen in Class 11 Science, sixteen in Class 11 Arts, seventeen in Class 12 Science and twenty-two in Class 12 Arts. Commerce was full at both levels.
How many teachers does the school have?
The homepage counter gives 67 teaching and 4 non-teaching staff. Unlike several sister campuses this school does not publish a post-by-post staffing table, so how many sanctioned posts are vacant is not visible from outside and would have to be asked.
